Its impossible to compare eras but IMO, Bure was a better pure goal scorer than Ovi. Mario had an incredible, unstoppable shot. He could put the puck anywhere he wanted, and could deke your pants off too.

If he were a bit more selfish (and healthy) I think he'd have the goals record easy. His goals/game and SH% are right up there w/ Bossy.

Me, too. However, I’m so ready for the Leafs to bomb out that I almost just prefer it to happen now. I don’t think it will. I think they survive. But I just assume getting rid of them sooner than later, regardless of the Lafreniere dice roll that comes with being unworthy.

So gimme BJs (I think I’ve said that before). Their defense is quite decent, but I just don’t believe they can hang with the Flyers right now. I don’t trust their scoring ability, and I like our goaltending in that match up.

He’s going to be left unprotected in the expansion draft for certain. It will be great getting that contract off the books. Although, he was playing well before the break. But he’s always a slow starter. AV isn’t going to spend the time getting him back up to speed.

I know we joke that Pitt will get the top pick if they lose, but if the NHL really was rigged the pick should go to Panthers. Would love them to get it or a team out West

I know I’m on an island alone but I haven’t felt the playoff intensity yet. I feel like Boston and Washington were missing two key players, if not their best players in Rask and Carlson but it doesn’t mean I’m taking anything away from what the Flyers have done. We’re ready, they weren’t. I’ve said from the start that I expect a deep run and I still do. This doesn’t mean we’ve seen the very best from other teams and it doesn’t mean the Flyers do not have room for improvement. Power play needs adjustment. The other three lines outside of the Hayes line, they need to be better.

For those who have an issue with this prospective, these are just my thoughts and opinions.

Random thought: if Habs win and Bruins get the 4th seed... is anyone worried this would be an “easier” series for the Bs? Pretty silly the 4th seed will be rewarded the worst seed if Habs win. I know mentality is worry about who you play, but o think Bruins and Pens would wear eachother down more

you do realize that the playoffs are pretty grueling and that teams will be missing players, right? pointing out that the other team was missing this player or that player doesn't matter. the flyers are missing Patrick, lindblom, and raffl. they were also missing hart and jvr during their last win.

I guess Carlson is more important than the 5 players the flyers didn't have in the lineup last game. You're saying you're not trying to detract from the win. Then why mention it at all?

Why would anyone assume that if JVR were left unprotected, that Seattle would take him? Not saying he's a terrible player, or worthless, but I don't see them just taking him off our hands without a sweetner included (draft picks). Plus if Ghost is also unprotected (I don't know that he will be), then I think they gamble on him before JVR.

If I'm building a team from scratch, avoiding players that are under-performing relative to their contract is my top priority. I think we saw that, for the most part, with LV.

Canes look great. And they are getting Dougie Hamilton back. Losing a playoff series to Mrazek would be tough to swallow.
