But Crosby is not Domi's matchup
- obie

And yet, they're on the ice together enough for Domi to get in his head. Got it.

Well, Danault value in dry spell >> Domi value in dry spell.

Domi will ask (minimum) $6M.

I can see Danault getting $4-4.5, maybe $5, on a shorter deal than Domi, too.

- Mashadar

Your point comparing the 2 during dry spells is bang on, can't argue that at all!

I think you're are probably close enough on the contracts too... and for me, I take Domi at 6×6 over Danault at 5×5

No you're right.... when matching lines you only play against the one line the entire series

Dude, exactly! He does find himself matched up against him at times. Point is, neither Domi or Danault has managed to shut Crosby down completely. I don't think anyone can, to be honest.

I would'nt.

I think Danault has proven he's a professional, does everything right. Domi will pout if he's not playing center, takes bonehead penalties, can take entire season offs if he's not happy.

Domi is good but he's a double-edged sword.

That's another thing about Domi, maybe after a sub par season you can lock him in long term at a bargain price

Would not want either for more than 4 years.

And if they both want long deals, then trade whichever one brings you the most back.

Or both.

Yikes. All of a sudden, they're not so deep at centre.

Long term deals are never team friendly, maybe Domi takes 4 years, who knows....

He's still only an RFA.... another difference between the 2 that favors Domi in my opinion

So a bridge deal would be best, imo.

Not a change. I keep Danault that does a fine job on the 1st line until the kids are ready to bump him to 3rd line duty (that will coincide with him slowing down a bit).

Domi's a very good player that can be used to plug a hole on D or on the wing once and for all.

Undo the Sergachev trade and draft Shea Theodore instead of Michael McCarron and this team looks much different, doesn't it?
