Domi is good but he's a double-edged sword. - M. Arachide
He'll also cost more and wants to play C, with a top 3C of Suzuki, KK, Danault Habs could package him for some help on D. |

By when the kids are ready you mean last week?
And you wanna use Domi on defense? - obie
Honestly, I'd be comfortable with Suzuki and KK as top 2 Cs going forward...I hope Julien feels the same next season. |

I think one has to go this off season... and as much as I'm trying to make a case for Domi, I know the team will keep Danault, I just think it's the wrong decision for the wrong reasons |

Undo the Sergachev trade and draft Shea Theodore instead of Michael McCarron and this team looks much different, doesn't it? - obie

Suzuki and KK are still a couple of years away from being consistent forces on the 1-2 lines. I can live with a healthy rotation of them and Danault centering the top 3 lines. Give them wingers and shore up the 1st pair of D. |

Suzuki is pretty much there in my mind (he's also older) think KK is NHL ready but will move from wing to center and 1,2,3 lines for the next two years.

They will both be inconsistent for a couple of more years. Im fine with that. Danault still provides realiable 2 way hockey and eventually, he'll be where he should be... 3rd line. |

Karine
Hains: The Habs Net a Second Win
Carey Price put in a good performance again last night and Claude Julien made some astute changes to his line combinations to take a 2-1 series lead. - Karine Hains
i'm with you on this series. one could argue that a playoff "run" of any kind may give some good experience to the kids but this team is not built for a playoff run and are clearly so challenged offensively.
we have a better shot at lafreniere now than if we had finished 24th after a normal regular season. either #1 or a #9 consolation prize would far better serve the canadiens moving forward than the torture of losing in the 1st round of the playoffs.
the only scenario worse than the penguins or oilers getting lafreniere would be the leafs getting him should columbus win that series. no playoff run by the habs would ever make that worth the agony. |

Not a change. I keep Danault that does a fine job on the 1st line until the kids are ready to bump him to 3rd line duty (that will coincide with him slowing down a bit).
Domi's a very good player that can be used to plug a hole on D or on the wing once and for all. - WaterBoy
Well, I try to unload Drouin first before any of the centers... |

I'm surprised Karine wants them to lose. She's usually more fefan than that. |

At some point you have to realize that the Habs aren't gonna win the COVID Cup and badly need another top 10 pick. |
