If you like it that much were gonna need you to throw in a 1st rounder. It's just business is all. 🤣 - joel878
Well we could add for sure... bump that 2nd player up a bit ... and you could have the 36th pick .. early 2nd.
We're getting either Drysdale or Rossi @ 6 and another solid player @ 27 or so where the B's end up. And then have the 36th pick also.
MM would look Awesome next to either Trevor or Rossi... Oh my... that's heaven.

What will Tampa, Islanders, Oilers, Pens, Coyotees, Panthers, Blues, Stars, Rangers, Canucks do with their cap? - RogerRoeper
I think that is exactly the point. Add in a few other teams that are capped out (eg Winnipeg) in terms of having to resign some of their own players.
It's like going to a dance where there are 21 girls and only 10 boys. Who is most popular? Is it the pretty girl with the rigid, demanding moral code. Or, how about Suzy who is open to a discount package for the evening?

Marner + prospect (we'll make the prospect Bracco cause I like your tone) for Silfverberg, Manson, Larsson and a 2nd rounder (36).
Deal. 🤝
See, it took me 5 minutes to trade Marner. Dubas won't have it that hard... 🤣 |

Roeper would be rejected by all 21 girls and then yell at them. "But what about Lou and Jim? They're in cap hell! But everyone said Kyle caved! Freddy should be replaced with Robin! I have the best dance moves in the cap era! Suzy! I'm desperately seeking Suzy! What's her Cap though? Come dance with me Suzie"! |

I'm actually way too handsome to get rejected by 21. Maybe 5.

Bullpoop. Majority of NHL teams care more about actual $ owed than cap hit. This is be more eveident than anytime in the history of the cap with COVID.
William Nylander be owed very little money is HUGE to his value. There's are more medium market teams and small market teams than rich ones. - RogerRoeper
I think you are right and I think Nylander is more attractive to teams than Marner. If Marner goes to the Devils, his $11m becomes the target for Hischear and Hughes. These are hard dollar issues that are so much more important to insiders than it is to the average fan.

Buffalo has to actually find a way to shed some cap. Because they have to add to that team and have so much pressure. That Sinner deal is devestating. - RogerRoeper
If 9m is devastating & they missed out on the play ins by 1 win then okie dokie.
Olofsson injury hurt them & the Habs who passed them are up 2-1 on the Pens. |

I am sure you'd have that opinion if Jeff Skinner was on the Leafs. He was outscored by 37 year-old Spezza who makes NHL minimum...
Marner is a worse deal and Nylander guess? |

I believe if Leafs bow out today... A lot of these scenarios are going to be bandied about before the draft...
Just no way Leafs could avoid a large and vocal fan base excoriating mangmnt about the D not being fixed and go into next yr with Barrie and Ceci gone and just Reilly and a 32 yr old Muzzin as the only reliable guys back there. |

Freddy's #s can look "Good", but he isn't shutting it down at all. He keeps letting in softies. - RogerRoeper
lol. Roger is nothing if not predictable. Marner an invisible 1 assist in 3 games, Nylander softer than charmin....and he tosses poop at Anderson, who is the reason they had a "chance". Wait until Anderson is gone. You will see then something to cry about.... |

Are we really going to go back to that "Andersen carries the Leafs" myth? He's had less work than Columbus goalies. He has also faced much less high danger chances.
Andersen at his best posts slightly above NHl numbers. He was one of the worst NHL starters. |

Canucks are fine but probably cannot sign one of our UFA’s unless can dump cap or the buyout route or if lucky Baertschi terminates for a fresh start. Ferland looks to be toast & retire on LTIR. |

Ok you want Eriksson?
He’s only owed 5m over 2 years little to no offence but still very good on the PK & defence. |
