I blame the roster make up & that’s on management not the coach or players. Signing JT was a major coup but problematic filling in the roster properly. It contributed to both Matthews & Marner fetching top dollar too soon. They would’ve gotten paid but it gave them leverage. Hefty bridge deals went out the window & left the cap maxed out in a difficult way.

Ah well...onto tomorrows game!

If you look real close, I've levied criticism against damn near every player on the team tonight. You seem to have an issue with only Matthews because it goes against your opinion of his play. I never said he played bad, not once. So yes, agree to disagree...

On Matthews i cannot question his work ethic. He did all he could & lil bad luck to go with it. I give credit to CBJ making him earn every inch he got. I don’t believe most of the team put in the same effort. I will continually repeat myself that it’s the CBJ MO. They stifle a team into submission or they stick to the program til any team can beat them to win a game. They are a true extension of their coach like no other team. Talent on paper they don’t care. You have to beat them they don’t lose or give anything.

We have to skate & be intense for 60mins. We can bang. We can out score our problems but ill advised to hope it’s that easy. We rely on Marky too often. Our D can be exposed at times. PP is good PK needs better results. That’s my summary of the Canucks. Minny is a good opponent where all of this doesn’t necessarily all apply. Going forward if we beat them will be the real test.
