The Leafs lost a game.

Hopefully management didn't lose their minds.

Poulin on Leafs Lunch comparing Holl to Komisarek. Yikes.
- DrunkenCanuck

That's ridiculous. And poulin never mentioned how great he was in game 2

Playing with Travis Derp doesn’t seem to go well for anyone. Is he regressing or just not getting better?

All I want is consistency.

I really am sick of refs making up calls (or ignoring clear infractions) in a misguided attempt to influence the game. It happens in most games I watch, not just leaf games.

- Leafs43

The NHL would change the way the refs call games, if they wanted it changed. This is the way it is. I don’t disagree with you. The inconsistency is frustrating, but it often goes both ways. Any narrative that’s whoa are us Leafs and we get all the calls against us, is just nonsense and it’s borderline incessant.

I died inside a little bit last night.

How daphuck can the Leafs manage to make Dubois look like Kucherov?

One glaring thing I noticed - last night's Leafs reminded me of last year's Lightning. Tons of talent and speed and finesse, but no resiliency. As long as the Leafs are in the driver's seat, they are golden and they can dominate. But the minute another team pushes back hard, they start to fold. There's no second wind or pushback of their own. Once Columbus seized the momentum, the Leafs looked discombobulated without any cohesive reply. There were isolated individual efforts like Robertson, but most of the Leafs just seemed to skate around shell-shocked and making bad passes or getting beat man to man in puck races or board battles.

There was no overdrive gear. The Lightning were like that and got swept out by Columbus once Torts rallied his troops. When the Lightning blew a two goal lead against the Bruins in the last game, the Bruins seized momentum briefly, but then the Bolts kicked into gear again and dominated the closing minutes to seize the lead for good. The Leafs need that desperately.

To me - He hasn't taken that next step.

He is fine with sheltered minutes. But the next step is to be able to play against top six lines and make good decisions.

His decision making is consistently bad when he is playing against good players.

Neids @ any age is a better FA signing... Come on, usually you're rock solid but this one is brutal.

When we signed him it basically won us a cup.. I haven't seen anything close to that from JT.

That's why I said "arguably."

Yeah, Niedermayer was probably better.

I'd like to think my point still stands, though.

let's disagree on that then.

only young FWs I'd trade Marner for in a one-for-one would be

- McDavid
- MacKinnon
- Barkov

Barzal, Eichel to me are on the exact same level as him.

Aho and Svechnikov are close to Marner, but I still prefer Marner over them.
I'd prefer Marner over Draisaitl, Pastrnak as well.

in gm 2 they had the lead and were able to lock it down.

in OT the Leafs had some sustained pressure and a few grade A chances.
thats hockey

I followed the Leafs closely in the Gilmour era and then fell away a bit and watched them from afar. It's only in the last 2 or 3 years that I started following the Leafs more closely again and watching more of their games in their entirety.

And I gotta say, I can understand the frustration now. I get it. Goddammit it's painful to watch.

You're messing me up with logic and cohesive / persuasive positions ... stop it..

JT is a home run although after that boneheaded OT rush & shot a little luster is off.
