I don't care who gets first overall...even if it's the Leafs or Pens - this has been some great hockey. I missed this !

But you could've had great hockey and a draft lottery that didn't give teams with 0% chance of missing the playoffs when the shutdown happened a 12.5% chance at getting the first overall pick just because they happened to lose 3 games after a 2.5-month hiatus.

The NHL made itself look like a farce for no reason at all.

Sadly, your last line is probably true.
