According to "White Fragility" You are a racist because you are white. Period. It's a shame you aren't as upset at such a prevalent theory on the left as you are about this being directed at you on Hockeybuzz. One of these scenarios is far, far more dangerous than the other.
- SoCalPucks

Most people aren't born racist because they are white:

What does White Fragility look like?
A large body of research about children and race demonstrates that children start
to construct ideas about race very early; a sense of white superiority and knowledge of racial power codes appears to develop as early as pre-school (Clark,
1963; Derman-Sparks, Ramsey, & Olsen Edwards, 2006). Marty (1999) states,
As in other Western nations, white children born in the United States inherit the
moral predicament of living in a white supremacist society. Raised to experience
their racially based advantages as fair and normal, white children receive little
if any instruction regarding the predicament they face, let alone any guidance in
how to resolve it. Therefore, they experience or learn about racial tension without understanding Euro-Americans’ historical responsibility for it and knowing
virtually nothing about their contemporary roles in perpetuating it (p. 51)

But, if you open your mind you can break the construct of ideas

Because most whites have not been trained
to think complexly about racism in schools (Derman-Sparks, Ramsey & Olsen
Edwards, 2006; Sleeter, 1993) or mainstream discourse, and because it benefits
white dominance not to do so, we have a very limited understanding of racism.
Yet dominance leads to racial arrogance, and in this racial arrogance, whites have
no compunction about debating the knowledge of people who have thought complexly about race. Whites generally feel free to dismiss these informed perspectives rather than have the humility to acknowledge that they are unfamiliar, reflect
on them further, or seek more information. This intelligence and expertise are
often trivialized and countered with simplistic platitudes (i.e. “People just need
to…”).

I want either Minny of Nashville to get 1st overall, but since this is the NHL Pittsburgh or Edmonton will get it.
- Stripes77

Edmonton would be interesting from the perspective that perhaps they would then consider moving RNH out knowing they have an upgrade at wing to backfill and can use him to shake-up their RhD core.

EK watch the Sabres and Hoffman and Granlund. Biggest one was Pietrangelo
- Buff36

Hoffman would be nice

Still need a 2C

Pietrangelo wouldn't step foot in Buffalo LOL

EK puts the Sabres in a lot of rumors because we are the most active fanbase on the site and it gets clicks and comments.

Oh I hear you, but he would be the perfect partner for Dahlin. I would take either Hoffman or Granlund if the price is right.

Jeff Skinner.

Creates shots and scoring chances per 60 on par with ....... MacKinnon, Pastrnak, Pacioretty and Toffoli.

A. Cannot wait for Skinner to inevitably rebound
B. Toffoli is super under rated

Would be interesting to see what he could do with Skinner. Big Cap hit though, but guess you are getting rid of Okposo.

Welcome Mark.

For me it’s as if the team was sold and left town already. Real NHL hockey feels that distant.

If the Sabres have the opportunity to trade for him, I think they'd be nuts not to.
Risto straight up?
Montour for Josh Anderson.
Sam + in a package for a suitable 2C
Draft Rossi or Holtz.

I wonder if UFA's like DeMelo and Dillon would then look at the Sabres as serious contenders and consider making the jump
