that Aristotelian point of view goes perfect with analytics...if you can't see it, touch it, feel it, chart it, it doesn't exist...

i've always leaned more towards the Platonic side of that philosophical dichotomy

ralph and botts talked daily though

the worst part is it's now the kim and ralph show and he was the one with hutton out there

- homiedclown

ultimately, i believe, it's the gm's call...

maybe that's one of the (many) reasons botts was shown the door

Those guys made the high end and have a high-end pension. If we are going to feel bad and the Sabres, who lose money every year, as Gil Perreault stated and had no problem with the not renewing the contracts as some on here are having, maybe they should give a stipend to Jacque Richard or Morris Titantic and their ilk and have soup kitchens at the arena too.
- GilPerreault11

many sabres and bills had full time jobs during the off season until the 80's

The stop paying salaries of ambassadors for Bills and Sabres and paying per event makes sense. Many current fans could care less about Danny Gare or Rene Robert but would rather see players from the 2006-07 teams at events like Vanek, Peca, Briere and there are some more recent Bills as well.

Not to mention there will not be any or few events and games this coming year so why pay for nothing?

The Sabres, especially, have been overpaying for nothing for years. As often is the case it takes a woman to clean things up and run things more prudently.

This is a big nothingburger trying to be made into a Big Mac

- GilPerreault11

I agree with you.

And Daryl Talley and his wife said they hold no ill will towards the Pegula's. They helped them when they needed it most, and they said they're forever grateful.

Unfortunately, everything these owners do now (even if it's "good") will be looked at like it's the end of the world, and people are going to take shots at them no matter what they do now.

Wait for the dumb comments tomorrow when they release the jersey.

That's more like the "60;s and maybe mid-'70's.

Average N.F.L. Salary Is $90,102, Survey Says in 1982----- and with inflation Adjusted for inflation, $90,000.00 in 1982 is equal to $246,038.94 in 2020. They weren't hurting and if you want to cry them a river for being football players when others were averaging far less, have at it.

go call phil esposito a liar then

and craig ramsay

and joe delamielleure

"Many of the players who helped establish the NFL as the country's most popular sport live today on pensions that are far below the poverty level, DeLamielleure said. His own pension is about $1,200 a month before taxes, and because he played in the 1970s and '80s, he never was paid the eye-popping sums of today. That means he will have to work for the rest of his life."

The comments were definitely warranted after they missed the playoffs again. And maybe after the mass firings (maybe).

They are absolutely not warranted during a jersey unveiling that most fans want.

But people can't resist, because everyone thinks they have most clever and snarkiest comment ever.

So let's keep kicking them while they're down.

Makes everyone feel tough. 👍

I'm not sticking up for them, but it's utterly pointless.

they go for a money grab with a new jersey, instead of cleaning their own mess

right now they deserve to be kicked again and again and again for the product on the ice over the last 8 years, behind their direction

There are people in our society who need my attention a lot more than those three. They are doing quite well. When they are 6 feet under at their eulogy the words they lived a full and fruitful life will be stated in some way.

And Was JOE D never going to work again after retiring from the NFL in his mid 30's? Was it the NFL's fault, his fault that he played in that era before the salaries took off? Is that Pegula's fault too?

No one said that but you would have more credibility if you would pick your fights with some discretion and not throw everything at the wall and hope it all sticks

if they were average owners, I could care less

they are aggressive hands on owners that change direction every 20 months which is not a good thing for any nhl franchise, let alone small market

if we were the islanders or the canes I could care less

the sabres have been the biggest joke in the nhl the last 8 years because of 2 people

With the Jersey thing. this was planned well before any of this other stuff hit.

Should they have done it last year, absolutely. but at this point what does it matter.

I happen to think the Sabres are doing a good job with this reveal, and the giveaways and the week long "celebration" they are doing.

Not saying you are but most people on social media are female doging just to female dog at this point.

Not really .. if anything the fans are the one to blame too..

Were they even allowed to do a new jersey last (this, I guess?) season? The last redesign was in 2017-18, and the league requires teams to keep a jersey for a certain number of years before introducing a new primary. Unless the Adidas switch didn't technically count as a jersey redesign?
