Just a quick reminder that we were playing against a team that had Andrew Copp or Adam Lowry as its #1 center since Game 1 and was running Dmitry Kulikov, Tucker Poolman and Nathan Beaulieu on D.

That would be relevant if the Flames just squeaked by, but they dominated 90% of the series. The Flames can beat anyone if they keep playing they way they did.

People are high right now because we just dominated a severely depleted Jets team, but let's have the discussion again after we get trashed by Colorado.

Are you serious? You want to rebuild again? We haven’t even seen this core mature enough together, they’re all still young. I’d like to see them pick up a player to play with Dube and Bennett. Maybe they promote from within or maybe it’s Pelletier.

The point is with hot goaltending the Red Wings could've dominated this series.

Ok, that is way too much hyperbole.

that is a dumb point because you have no idea...Jets played with tons of injuries all year and were middle of the pack.

Flames outscored them 16-6 in the series...credit where credit is do

The Jets were also shorthanded because of the absolute pounding the Flames laid on them

I don't think you understand what dominating means. Any team can steal a series with goaltending. The Flames were the better team in every aspect from pretty much the second period of game one.

I would like to point out to the doom and gloomers, rebuild now, and make a trade now people a few things.

The cap will be flat for the next 2-3 years. FLAT!
This is a full team game, not basketball where one player can take you all the way.

90% of our players are on extremely reasonable contracts for their pedigree and signed for the next 2-3 years plus. This is PERFECT for the FLAT CAP situation.

So in what (frank)ing world do you live in that You think we should do something like trade Johnny?!
Or pick up Taylor Hall for 10 plus million a year?!
In the Cap world you only have what money you have left in the bank. It’s not like you can use credit cards to overspend your bounds. So where do you expect to get the money to pay for said people. We already have people of our own to resign.

Why rebuild now?!

Mangiapane is becoming a very good player and seems to fit excellent on the second line. We didn’t have that before. Hence a big improvement. Plus Chucky gets better every year.

Andersson has finally bloomed and come into his own and is playing elite level hockey. Plus he has seemed to have found good chemistry with Hanifin which is great for both on our second pairing.

Gustafsson provides us with another high quality PP quarterback like Gio. In fact they have Gus playing PP 1 right now to give more rest to Gio in games. Plus he and Forbort work well together on our 3rd D pairing.

Talbot seems to have gotten his mojo back. Time will tell but if he plays steady this way this way we may have a chance at the cup.

I got to get back to work so I’ll finish this later.

Well said re: flat cap era... this is NOT the time to blow things up. The next series will be much more difficult, but I like our start to the post-season. A little momentum and confidence can really make a difference... and the breadman is awesome.

I think the Stars are quite beatable. Bishop isn't as good as Helleybuk. GFG!!!

The stars has lost 7 in a row until today’s Overtime win and if the Flames play their hungry forcheck along with some crash and bang, we’ll win this in 6, maybe even 5...
Don’t get me wrong as first thing is first but if we get through to the next round hopefully it will be Colorado which will not only give us a chance for redemption but help us raise our bar to take on Vegas who in my opinion is the team to beat...
I have a lot of faith as long as they play their game!!!

We were hella cocky last year when Colorado rolled into town - the team had a business like approach in the first round - they need to keep that mentality regardless of whatever situation the Stars might find themselves in

With the flat cap and expansion in mind, some teams might be willing to overpay for top players on reasonable contracts like Gaudreau. I'd look into it and act a quick rebuild in order to be seriously contending in 2022-2023 when we can spend again.

A rebuild? What are you talking about. LMAO
