You will all think I'm crazy, but if they get the #1 pick they need to dangle it for a stud RFA dman still on his ELC and make that team take JJ with it.

i wont go as far to say he isnt a problem. he is. but hes not the highest on the list. i get that it is deflating to watch him whiff, but its not as though other players even get in the (frank)ing spots to whiff consistently. and it doesnt get much more deflating than murray letting in trash or jack johnson being given a uniform night in and night out.

I agree, but we KNEW going into the series that JJ, Murray, and Sheary were the weak links. And Sully featured all of them prominently. Those three killed us. Yeah, Schultz was crap, too, and Malkin needs to do better. Guentzel got beat up and you could tell it affected him. But the big 3 were painfully obvious and it played out just as expected.

Not saying I would prefer Velluci. I just think unless Ruth goes, he brought him to wbs for a reason.

Sully himself said numerous times it’s on his shoulders and responsibility to have the team ready to play. He also mentioned in game adjustments were a major component to his responsibilities and he failed miserably on all of those responsibilities. As far as I’m concerned he’s as much to blame as anyone and everyone. Yes Sid and Malkin are the stars, but aside from tanev (last play excluded) and Horny no one else even showed up.

I think this game should suffice to show Murray is expendable and should be moved.

In addition to Poulin, Legare and Hallender there’s also POJ who I want to see get a shot. Adding Lafrenniere pits this team orders of magnitude higher than this years team in terms of potential. Especially if the list of moves are made to jettison the dead weight.

Here's what I hope happens...

-Fire Sully. Hire Gallant

-Fire Rutherford. Hire whoever. I don't know good available GMs.

-Trade JJ

-Re-sign McCann to play LW on the 3rd line.

-Trade Murray

-Re-sign Sheary for four years at $3.5M just to piss you guys off.

In a vacuum it makes sense, but I think our top 4 is good enough. I would rather they pursue a stud RW instead like they should have done at the TDL. Also, just buying out JJ isn't that big of a deal anymore. Just do it already. Zero assets surrendered.

everybody still mad at Carolina for voting against this format?
- BINGO!

No, everyone knew this format was a crap shoot, but there likely wasn't an alternative.

I wish there was a middle finger emoticon for that last statement.

I agree with the rest and good call on Gallant. Hire that guy tomorrow.

But he was a problem in the series. He lost every puck battle and board battle. Multiple turnovers. What do people see in him? Nice breakout plays here and there? So what? He's a zero the rest of the time.
- Hockey66

Conor Sheary was on the ice for 35 scoring changes and 26 against, along with 18 high dangers and 9 against in the playoffs... he wasn't a big problem, if a problem at all lol

You son a female dog 😂

I think we need 1 solid right winger other than rust. I don’t mean another kessel quality player. But maybe try and buy low on a Josh Anderson and maybe he regains his form. Just someone who can bring a presence to the right side and maybe put up 40 points.

Not a problem at all. People want to overlook the fact the Sid and Geno didn't elevate their games.

They would have to take back a bad contract in return. I don't think Murray is valuable enough to offset JJ. I don't think Murray has much value at all, frankly. Just watch, he'll be a backup or a starter on a bad team for the rest of his career. I like him and wish him the best and I hope he revives his career, but I just don't see it. He is simply not fast enough to be an NHL goalie with all of the other holes in his game.

Don't get me wrong, I really don't need to see him return. Didn't this time either.

I just think some of you are complaining so much about Sheary dragging down the top line, yet he was involved in more goals than the other 3 lines combined. That's a much bigger problem, yet who's mentioning those guys?
