Yep, and i thought Boqvist was present in game 4. Progress and as much as i don't care for Koekkoek he had a very nice game 4. Don't think it's a coincidence that Maatta, Boqvist and Koekkoek had better games and the Oil only scored 2 goals. We need more of this going forward - BetweenTheDots
The playoffs continues to the fast track learning place for players, and Slater Koekkoek got his feet wet in Tampa Bay, and you cannot ignore the way he played.

I thought Sikura and Nylander both not playing was the key to the series. |

Right on. Wasn't sure if they were able to add players during the playoffs. |

He didn’t travel with the team, if they need to replace one of the 6 d-men currently playing they’ll have to dip into the reserves they brought (Carlsson, Regula, Beaudin, etc).
I wouldn’t mind seeing Carlsson play at some point, I think it will happen. |

Another perspective to consider regarding your best players not all needing to be 1st rounders is the blueline. Even if you count Seabrook as the 7th man, all of them are former 1st rounders except the team's true #1 defender Keith:
Keith - Boqvist
de Haan - Murphy
Maatta - Koekkoek
Seabrook
Then besides Beaudin, the team's top D prospects are not 1st rounders: Carlsson, Krys, Kalynuk, Regula, Demin, and Vlasic. - AEL_Fox

We will be moving D prospects for F prospects. Hopefully we do better than last time we tried it. |

I try to be fair, it's easy to be biased, i also thought inspite of the 5 minute major, Cat had a very nice series weekest game was his 1st and steadily improved. |

I really think if Strome can just be solid defensively and win some board battles and face offs this team can compete. That center position is so important especially defensively. I know many complained about Anisimov but if we still had him i really believe we'd be even harder to play against
Edit, compete at another level |

If DeBrincat wasn't reputationally a prolific goal scorer, then it's tough to argue that he played poorly. He brought other elements to the series that contributed to the team's compete level.
One example was his lack of fear to get his nose dirty and play physical. There were many instances when he stood up for a teammate or literally pushed back against the Oilers no matter their size.
If he can start scoring goals, then that will be most welcome but 3 assists in 4 games was a good start. |

Hopefully someone not named Toews can win a face off next series. |

My expectations for Strome have taken a nose dive, but I wouldn’t give up on him just yet. A cap friendly 1 or 2 year deal would make sense, but signing Kubalik should be the priority. |

Agree on Strome. If he's struggling to get his offense going, contribute in other ways. Same with Nylander.
If either or both can't do that, then I would consider swapping in others like Sikura or Hagel who will chip in strong compete across 200 feet.
Sikura and Hagel may not score a lot but neither are Strome and Nylander (one solitary point between them).
As Colliton said, "No passengers." Right now, Strome and Nylander have been passengers. I would love for them to stick as starters but they need to step it up. |

Loosing a 9th or 10th pick on a skill forward or Lundell, Bowman instead may trade a dman prospect for a forward prospect. And draft considerations might include Holloway or Jary (if they are available)
If possible I would trade Saad (and something else too if necessary) in a trade where we exchange first round picks 2020. This is only at #9 or #10 overall and Askararov is available. I'm thinking about such a deal if Rossi is available. Or Sanderson. |

Please god no. I thought the best part of beating the Oil would be that all of the Askararov talk would cease.
Silly me. |

Every D-bag has a reason they’re a D-bag,bottom line....still a D-bag.
He’s a big, positionally sound goalie. In other words, he gets in the way of a lot of pucks. He’s not athletic, doesn’t control rebounds, and sucks one on one with a skilled shooter.
He’s Meh. - Ogilthorpe2
Then what’s your reason? Because you’re being a d-bag about this...and unnecessarily so if I might add. The guy is dealing with a diagnosed bi-polar disorder - it warrants some empathy.
That aside, I agree with your assessment on his goalie skills - Lehner is good, but not great. I’m much more comfortable with Crawford in goal. |

The Hawks need to draft a goalie in the first half of the draft this year, taking chances in the 6th and 7th rounds hasn’t been paying off. I’d go with Blomqvist or Bednar in the 3rd round. |

I agree - but Arizona is basically a Chicago team too with as many former Hawks as they have on their roster. |
