I thought it was stanbo that blew that one when he was under Dale, and Dale covered for him...

Politics in the front office of the hockey team on West Madison. You don't say. Maybe a special proclamation for a special shot to infuse the chaps down on the ice with additional energy. Quaranteen is not enough, just get a shot too. That is a sure way to find support. Heck, if they finish up their season and the following season is cancelled, just extend unemployment for them. But i digress; they can beat those Vegas clowns.

If you think thst the only clown is in a large white - color office in DC and probably is not even a hockey fan....
If TALLON returned here then there another clown in the Blackhawks chair

Dale isn't going anywhere. There are some nice golf courses in Florida. Just bring some spray repellant for those huge summertime mosquitos.

We could use some mosquitos on the ice vs that Vegas outfit. But that is another storyline.

Another perspective to consider regarding your best players not all needing to be 1st rounders is the blueline. Even if you count Seabrook as the 7th man, all of them are former 1st rounders except the team's true #1 defender Keith:

Keith - Boqvist
de Haan - Murphy
Maatta - Koekkoek
Seabrook

Then besides Beaudin, the team's top D prospects are not 1st rounders: Carlsson, Krys, Kalynuk, Regula, Demin, and Vlasic.

Whatever became of future Norris Trophy winner Henri Jokiharju?

You left out obscure Jakob Galvas, one day he may come to North America as a matured young man and play in the NHL.

At some point in the next couple of years Stanbo may get credit for doing a very good job rebuilding the D corps. There won't be a Keith among them but the future behind the blueline doesn't look hopeless.

My expectations for Strome have taken a nose dive, but I wouldn’t give up on him just yet. A cap friendly 1 or 2 year deal would make sense, but signing Kubalik should be the priority.
- DarthKane

Did he even cross the centerline in Game 4? All I saw of him was entering my TV screen as the puck whizzed around Crawford. Cap friendly to me with Strome is a 2 way deal @ $1.5M before Kurashev takes his place permanently. The Hawks will definitely not protect him in the Seattle draft.

No Tallon isn't going after him. Tallon has issues with their blueline corps. But that is just one issue. Some whisper. Tallon will get axed. I don't think so, not yet but after another poor playoff showing next season? Tallon will have a stud young goaltender soon so how can he trade him or Bob? Solve this and Tallon could have a nice new piece to help him traverse the rocky playoff waterways. ?

They fired him immediately after being eliminated.

One post season win in all his 9 plus years there. and against the suggestions of his scouts, takes Erik Gudbranson in 2010 when they wanted Tarasenko or Ryan Johansen...or if it had to be a defender, Cam Fowler.

Famous imaginary architect of the Blackhawks.

Long list of questionable decisions -

Drafts Lawson Crouse and then trades him to Arizona to get rid of Dave Bolland's contract.

Signs Bobo to a massive deal just after drafting Spencer Knight.

Dumps Vinny Trochek for Haula and Wallmark and a couple of bodies.

Where is Owen Tippett, another one of his big body #1 picks?

Whoa! All GMs have a miss or two or three, but Dale's resume is ... well ... not good.

I forgot to mention Dale's failure to do maintenance on the office fax machine when the Hawks needed to get those RFA offers done by a deadline date. Stanbo got the blame for that I think.

Sure did, I'm just talking about the ones here defending him, how its all Stan's fault. That whole expansion draft implosion I'm sure some how some way that was Bowmans fault to.

Aren’t the Hawks still owed a player from SOME TEAM from that Vegas expansion draft?

I somehow remember that in exchange for dis, dat, or d’other, the Hawks were going to get something.

Wasnt it future considerations involving Marcus Kruger?

Hawks probably got a new fax machine to replace their broken one and dont want to publicize it much.

Tallon was always well liked by the players and I guess all those whom he intereacted. Tallon has the character wherin he is a real champion telling jokes and having a good time in life. Some of the best hockey broadcast was Tallon as color analyst.

Just for the record he also drafted a couple of Russians and J Skille with those precious #1 picks.

People claim Bowman gets too much credit for the 2010 Cup since Tallon assembled most of the roster. Well a lot of that talent was home grown/drafted and ripe for promotion when Tallon was GM.

It was a collaborative effort by Kelly and scouts the actual drafting of many role players on the 2010 team. Sure, Tallon's voice was probably heard in the discussions whom to draft BUT Tallon took over with much of the roster already drafted and either here or soon graduated to NHL. I will just add this: was it Dudley who suggested Versteeg? Did Tallon take a look based on that recommendation then traded for Versteeg

I am totally expecting two rookies on defense next season

Certainly near the completion of the regular season there should be a third rookie dman. You can pull off playing three youngsters on defense if two of them are playing at least adequate the last couple months of the season AND the rookies have a solid contribution in at least one part of their game

It's puck management/movement as new age dmen yet the rookies will not be too green defensively. Carlsson should start the season here. Either Kalynuk or Mitchell too. One of those three will play in the AHL but along with Beaudin they don't need to prep for long. Kyrs, on the other hand, is destined to be an NHL dman but would benefit from a full second AHL season. Should Kyrs continue to improve then he might not be too weak as an injury replacement in his initial NHL debut.

Bowman will keep a couple veterans around, however, as he must leave some players each position available to be selected in the expansion draft. So you may only see one or two gone from the following: Koekkoek Maata, Seeler, and Gilbert too.

Gilbert needs an entire AHL season playing responsibly in defensive coverage then if he has this success....possibly NHL fodder for a team desiring toughness from a third pair. Such is Gilbert ceiling

Seabrook is not going anywhere. We cannot trade a #1 or a top prospect to rid us of Seabrook. Seabrook has too much term for any team to take especially in budget trimming times during the Corona.

The dramatic change on defense will be seen after deHahn and Murphy leave. And kids take first and second pair minutes. I don't see Murphy leaving next year but the year after make room for the kids.

Rogula, Vlasic and a couple others will be the kids ripening in the AHL while other prospects move up. We need to see just how valuable and how much prep Rogula needs. And Galvas one season might be able to step right into the NHL. It will be musical chairs for the dmen coming and going the next three seasons.

Having watchded Galvas quite closely in the FEL last season, he is not going to be NHL-caliber D a year from now, if ever.

Tippett is 21, PPG player in his first year in AHL. How is that a questionable, either in vacuum or in 2017 draft context?

And Trocheck hasn’t exactly been on fire for Hurricanes, at least not yet.
