My bet is on the NYR to be given...err, "win" the pick

They just gave all that money to Panarin

Had a high pick last year...

Not sure when they had the number 1 ever...

Big market = good for hockey...

Does #50 make it to the 2nd period?

Lol Oilers gonna score at least 3 goals this period. There’s 1.

Another awful start.

Our options are somehow win this series and then get swept by the Avs/Knights

...or lose and get a top 10 pick.

Seems like an easy choice but it’s very difficult to root for the other team.

Top 10 pick doesnt guarantee anything

I mean, Strome, Nylander, Koekkoek were top 10 picks and they allegedly suck

Just keep feeding the puck to Kuku and Maatta - scoring machines.

Our forward depth is infinitely weaker with Kane, Cat, and Dach all on the same line.

We were much better with the firepower spread out over 3 scoring lines.

Strome and Nylander need Kane to be dangerous. Dach and Cat don’t. That’s really all it comes down to.

That was pathetic that the 9ft tall goalie gets beat on a wraparound

Just the chance that it might possibly work out is still worth taking....and still gives us more than the alternative: being swept in the next round and drafting lower.

Koskanin next had it blocked. Went in off of an Oil skater’s stick.

No guarantee they get swept

Some may think that playing in these types of games/environments is rather valuable to a team and coaching staff as young as they are

Just play to win and let things happen

Idk...is it bad that I give us literally a 0.0% chance of beating the Avs or Knights 4 out of 7? Am I being a bad fan? I just feel like it’s impossible. Our D is too meh and over 7 games those teams would roast us.

I dont think they Hawks would win

But you can see guys like Dach get confidence as he is now by playing these types of games. May be worth more than a few pick slots

Same with Boqvist. Hes been getting rag dolled at times. This can help him (if he has the head for it) and learn to adjust. If he takes the next step and sees he can handle these types of games...can elevate him big time

Every round you advance, the games pick up intensity they'll never get in the regular season

Kubalok quiet scoring-wise since game 1. But, already tonight a couple of good defensive plays. He is no floater. A scorer who gets himself back. I love that.

Totally agree, P.S. I like this analysis. To your point on youth getting experience, would you swap out any players (if we advance in this series) for other young guys who have been sitting?
