when the habs get bounced in the first round of the playoffs and the leafs win the #1 pick, would it be frowned upon today if Lafreniere pulled a Lindros and refused to play for the leafs? I mean the whole world pardoned Lindros for that poop move, think people would give Alexis the same leash?

Nah. Laffy is already happy that he doesn't have to worry about being drafted by the Dead Wings. He'd play for Mystery Alaska at this point.

If you win...and we win...we're all not allowed to be great internet friends for 2 weeks. Sports fan math

yeah sure but it'll be fun in here and then we'll all go back to being friends on the internet again when it's over.

We've got Cale Fleury, Ryan Poehling and Jordan Weal dressed for warmup. Presuming they are the extras.

haha truth, but i dont think peeps would pull those kind of blue line/ neutral zone murder hits and believe they could get away with it.

Seriously though, if the leafs get the first overall...and the habs lose to say philly or tbay in the first round ( should we win this mini series) it will be hard to want to watch hockey. The networks here are so leafs bias ( happens when you have owners like bell and rogers, and who happen to control the media as well) i couldnt stomach them talking about it the same way they did Matthews or Marner etc etc...

wont bite on that one... but with bell and rogers owning the leafs, any wonder why leafs coverage is so extensive and quality and the other teams get fluff pieces?

the habs, one of the most storied franchises in all of sports, get 3rd rate analyzing and coverage by the major networks in this country, its embarrassing.

not saying the lefas need to get less, it would be nice if it wasnt bias coming out of toronot, and that the other teams get a fair shake at coverage.

the first game of this series, cbc interviewed the coach from pittsburgh and focused on the pens during the pregame...Would that ever happen during a leafs game? hell nawwww... the habs were maybe mentioned twice? and it was Price this price that... lame and tired narratives...

They covered them more than others prior to ownership, so that doesn't matter.

The majority of the habs audience consumes them through french media. If they don't drive numbers they aren't getting more time. Look at TSN690, they average 2,000 listeners a day so it gives an idea of what's their dedicated base in English.

I agree, even as a leafs fan I find the coverage too much. Win or lose breaking down the minutiae of tge game gets boring.

Pens are believed to be one of the most followed teams in Canada. I don't really know who.

Wait...so you're saying these for profit companies are producing content that will result in the largest viewership/listenership/readership and thus the greater profit? That's so crazy it actually makes sense

cbc is national... habs fans are on par with leafs fan across the country...

also the misconception that habs fans are largely french is incorrect. I think the numbers would be higher if the quality and investment was made... i dont think your statements take into account that from decades of leaf over saturation, habs fans have given up... there is just no quality coverage. look at the early 00s, the leafs were a tire fire of a team... absolute garbage... the habs were the only playoff team in canada, and we would barely get quality coverage... its frustrating.
