When you underperform at times, have little resilience, and are inconsistent with your effort in the playoffs four years in a row, that is not parity, the vagaries of the luck of a cap system. That is a trend. Why not demand that this team win, Santo, instead of twisting your panties in a knot making excuses for them? Your "oh well" mentality is pretty leafy.

They lost to Washington and Boston. All tight series...they lost to a top 3 team in the league each time.

It’s hockey and it happens, they didn’t upset those teams. And really they shouldn’t of been expected to.

The excuses just change and evolve....I thought it was parity?

If anyone says they had faith the Leafs were going to win that game at 3-0...they are outright bullpoopting, bullpoopters.

Dude you really have no clue. This team, despite last night's "heroic" 3 minutes, needs changes made.

The craziest three paragraphs I have ever read, from Mirtle:

The sixsome of Auston Matthews, John Tavares, Mitch Marner, William Nylander, Zach Hyman and Morgan Rielly played the vast majority of the final 4 minutes and 18 seconds of the game, after Keefe’s very early goalie pull. They methodically picked apart the Blue Jackets, working the puck low and getting it to the net again and again.

But they directed only six pucks at the net in that time. Three were blocked. The other three went in.

In fact, the Leafs had just three shots on goal in the final 10 1/2 minutes of regulation, and they all beat netminder Elvis Merzlikins, who hadn’t allowed a goal in the previous 57 shots he had faced to that point.

I don't know quite how to articulate this, and maybe this is through blue-tinted glasses, but it didn't feel like a Columbus collapse.

They didn't play badly.

The Leafs won it more than the Jackets lost it.

Does that make sense?

- Atomic Wedgie

Reverse the jerseys, and I predict this would have been referred to as a massive collapse.

3 shots on goal in the last 10 mins of a game they were down 3-0.
Not a good stat.
Looks like the leafs got lucky.

Do you know how many shots that works out to over the course of a game?

Thank goodness for that “Power Line”. Not sustainable, but got the job done. Don’t get me wrong... I love Marner’s skill, but he, like most of his teammates, pooped the bed for 56 minutes. I expect more from him.

How did we watch hockey in the old days with these 8pm starts? Seems so late when they are done.

I don't know if he is trying to hard, or if he has the yipps or what.

But he is botching plays that he usually makes easily.

Even at the end. That turnover when the puck got stuck outside the netting. Can you imagine how different this place would be if that had gone in?
