Is it weird that I want the Leafs to lose?

It seems like the only time they actually make the necessary changes is after epic fails, otherwise, they just stand pat in mediocrity.

-Lose to CLB
-Fix the top heaviness by trading something that WILL suck at first..ie: Johansson for Jones
-Lose Ceci and Barrie and Malgin's cap hit.
-Keep Matthews, JT, Reilly, Muzzin and Campbell for sure...Anderson if the $ is right. Everyone else can be used for upgrades or Cap savings. (I chose the two top centers and our two top Dmen since they are obviously the hardest to get)
-Chance to draft Lafreniere!!!

Then watch hockey next season that doesn't mostly feel like I'm jamming a hockey stick up my pee hole...and supposed to enjoy it.

It’ll be sad when we’re golfing ( hopefully not ) and the Islanders are playing in the playoffs.

Except we get to see Roger being salty, that will be fun.

Heard an interesting little fact last night:

Next year's season has to be over no later than July 15th, because NBC will not broadcast any games that overlap with the Olympics.

That's a tight timeline.

That means playoffs probably have to start by about the third week of May.

I'm doing wild, back of the envelope math here, but guessing that it would have to start by early-mid December. No all-star break, no week off for each team.

They released the schedule weeks ago, season starts December 1st... you wasted a perfectly good envelope

They didn't release a schedule, they said that their tentative plan calls for the first games to be played on December 1.

It's a helluva long way from being finalized.

At the moment, the NHL is working on several different scenarios.

You really think the Canadian government is going to sign off on bubble-less NHL players crossing borders in December, right around the time of a second wave?

You're not cut out to be a Leafs fan.

I guess you are right....I am tired of being a losing Leafs fan and would like at least one playoff series win then I am satisfied for now....lets see what you have to say if they keep losing for the next 5 or 10 years like they have been

Ya we would have lost in regulation and it would sting less than losing in OT.

Probably the same thing I said in the 1970s.

And the 1980s.

And the 1990s.

And the 2000s.

And the 2010s.

Leaf fans I know never throw in the towel. No matter how bad they are. This Fan Base once watched such legends as Aki Berg, Mike Craig, Jeff Reese, Allan Bester, Alexander Goodnyuk, Miroslav Frycer, Lou Franceschetti and Jonas Hoglund. Toughen up by golly! 👍
