I was thinking the same about Malkin, but then the more I thought if it, the more it became obvious that would have to be a lateral move of sorts. My point being is that it wouldn’t be for a hand full of futures. They won’t want to waste any Crosby years. And those kind of trades are as tough as they come.

Leafs

Jones-Werenski might be the best pairing in the NHL.

I'm a fan.

Rielly doesn't seem that intense to me.

Muzzin brings a lot of grit and presence on the ice. We need more of that. Outside of AM34, he's the one guy on this team we couldn't afford to lose during a playoff run.

I think you are absolutely right. They currently are not built to succeed in the playoffs. No grit, no will to win, marginal goaltending.

The Leafs are exactly the same. Without major changes, they are going nowhere.

The difference is Pittsburgh has the rings and have grown complacent. The Leafs are complacent because their top paid players aren't willing to work or pay any price to win.

They play with pride at least.

Only line that seems to be on the same level as cbj is the 4th line.
That's not good.
Only other bright spots are Marner and Kapanen. And Freddy is playing well again.

Rielly has to play with the handbrake on since he has to babysit ceci.
Dermott is playing bad - completely lost.
And Barrie is only thinking about not getting injured in order to not miss the opportunity to sign a new 3x3.5 new contract with Vancouver.
