I think Bear just cost himself when it comes to raise time with that turnover! |

trading leon is the most ridiculous thing I've read here since tanner's blog. last I checked he had a pretty good season. as a flames fan i do hope you trade him. but maybe the problem is depth. fingers crossed we play you wieners next year in the playoffs. |

Watching Toews dominate this series and show the boys (97 & 29) how men play hockey in the warm weather season was absolutely beautiful.
I like both McDavid and Draisaitl. Unbelievable talents. But they got a clinic on playoff hockey this preliminary series. |

I know I'm being annoying, but I'm not a kid. 47, earned a regular 6fig paycheck to play this great game 20yrs ago and I'm fkn angry. I swear I can do better than this lazy fkn kid at my age right now.
Sorry for the excessive ranting but yeah...I'm pissed.

So done with this group of abject funkn f@ggots. Complete waste of time committing any time, money or energy to this franchise. I worked harder than these fuktards yesterday.
Move the team to Kansas City and GET FUCT. |

Controversial statements alert:
I missed the game last night but, from the first 3 games, McDavid needs to be better at 5-on-5 while this team is pays him 12.5mil a year. If he can't, he's overpaid. This goes for Draisaitl, as well.
Kassian is bad at defense and, therefore, is not a good fit alongside McDavid. This is why Holland made a huge mistake signing him.
Trade Klefbom. He would likely bring in good value while also not being hard to replace. Nurse typically plays harder minutes than him, Bear or Jones have the passing game to replace his PP ability (not to mention Bouchard) and his defending is nothing to write home about anyway. A Kempny or Merrill-type D covers the bet more effectively and for less. This can also apply to Nurse but not quite as easily right now. In a year or two, absolutely.
And now for a less-controversial statement:
Fix the bottom-6. It isn't that hard and this team's failure to ice an even 40% goal share bottom-6 has to be it's biggest failing. |

Maybe for the Oilers to beat a rebuilding 12 seed with the youngest roster in the 24 team tournament? - EnzoD
I did the math and think I recall the Oilers' 10 best players having a lower average age than that of the Hawks. Of course, this depends on who exactly you pick as top-10. |

These teams were closer than most outsiders or casual fans thought. All this does in my mind is reinforce what I already knew:
- many media figures and personalities feign knowledge on teams they don't watch
- this is a team still working with a young core
- this team wasn't good enough at even strength
- the bottom six needs to be a threat to score if this team is gonna have any success |

Close but no cigar, kinda like the Oilers.
Bottom 6 doesn’t have to score much, but they have to COMPETE. That never looked like playoff hockey - throw a hit for KRIS SAKE. Qualify AA? Are you absolutely fkn kidding? Guy doesn’t look like an NHL player, just some goof that learned how to skate fast - try speed skating and get FUCT.
The major problem is the franking D. Absolute garbage. Klefbom played with as much confidence as a guy who had his kok chopped off - he’s the #1? Not on a winning team. Larsson has been awful since his dad died, sorry but that’s reality and papa isn’t coming back - do the math. So we don’t have a top pairing, Kris Russell blocks a FUK load of shots because he knows he wouldn’t be in the NHL otherwise. The rest? Who gives a rat FUK. It doesn’t matter when you don’t even have top pairing talent.
I will not be renewing my tickets. When I work harder than a bunch of spoiled fkn babies playing hockey for money, well FUK that. I’m out. |

Is anyone really surprised? Oilers have two deadly players surrounded by a pile of garbage. Not a recipe for success.
Now watch everyone’s heads explode when EDM gets first pick. Don’t worry folks, they’ll eff it up

List heading into the offseason:
-Look into upgrading bottom 9 with players who could move up the lineup based on their potential (Milano, Jarnkrok, Sanford would be ideal targets)
-Top 6 winger (trade Klefbom): Something along the lines of Nylander or Ehlers would be awesome
-Reanalyze our goaltending situation
Of course there is the lottery coming up, but that'd be what I'd look into heading onwards. |

I'm all for trading Klefbom (or even Nurse) for a top 6 winger to play with McDavid. They could move Ennis or AA down to the 3rd or 4th line. Maybe AA can start off better and be McDavid's left winger? They should sign a 3C this offseasons as well. They could run something like:
AA-McDavid-Winger
Nuge-Draisaitl-Yamamoto
Ennis-3C-Puljujarvi?
Archibald-Sheahan-Kassian
Nurse-Bear
Jones-Larsson
Russell-Bourchard
Benning
