Crawford stunk tonight. He stunk in 3 of the 4 games against the Oilers so he has stunk in 4 out of 5 playoffs games. Hawks have no chance against a good team with leaky goaltending. He's the only guy we got so it's not like Colliton can go to the 1B goalie - there is no 1B goalie.
I'm sure the haters will be howling about their favorite whipping boys but the buck stops with Crawford ... unfortunately the puck doesn't stop with Crawford. |

Debrincat really needs to.....
....do something
That guy may need to be shipped out with his buddy Strome - PatShart
If he isn’t scoring goals he doesn’t bring much else. Not sure why he’s trying to be a more well rounded player. He’s undersized and really doesn’t have good speed or quickness. He isn’t illusive either. Score goals and go to the prime scoring spots. Stop trying to carry the puck into the zone and set guys up.
Nylander is so frustrating. He shows flashes and then just leaves you wanting much more.
Can Boqvist skate still? Anyone know if he’s nursing a lower body injury? Multiple times he had open ice and either threw a soft pass or half ass skated the puck up. Doesn’t look like a mobile dman that can skate and carry the puck. No expecting him to free lance in the ozone at age 19 but at least skate the puck up. Keith is skating circles around him.

Other than Boqvist, I didn't think the D looked that bad.
I'd like to move Dcat for a power forward, but I don't think anyone wants that cap hit. Stan with another tough contract to move. |

3 posts by the Hawks and 2 terrible goals allowed by Crawford....Dach definitely lost his mojo tonight. Murphy, DeHaan, and Keith are all playing great. Not sure how you can break up Saad-Toews-Kubalik but they arent getting anything from any other lines |

He was brutal and the Hawks hit 4-5 posts but that said Hawks were outplayed for long stretches.
Vegas kind of remind me of the old trots Preds. They just smother you all over the ice. |

Well, I might be wrong - but if the rule didn’t change yet - why was it a good goal? - StLBravesFan
Edzo said after talking to an official between periods that Reaves was ruled to have dragged his toe |

The line blender isn’t going to do any good - players who have been successful in the past need to play better:
Kane - 4 SAT, one on net
AdB - 1 SAT, none on net
Saad - 2 SAT, none on net
Strome - nothing
Caggiula - 1 SAT, none on net
That’s not much there.
Toews and Kubalik had better numbers, but didn’t seem dangerous.
Changing lines at this point, I fear, won’t help.

Hawks have pretty much no chance with 88 playing like he did tonight. - EnzoD
I think Kane has something wrong with him. Maybe his hand from the slash he got in Game#2 against the Oilers. He isn't playing like he normally does, that's for sure.

88 has no chance when Dach played like ass and no LWer
Was very easy for Vegas to take away the ice from him. And it will get worse for Kane as the series goes on as long as ADB and Dach play like that.
Dach has to shoot the puck and shoot often. He needs to get way more aggressive so teams will respect him
Debrincat needs the press box. Not even the 4th line. Let him sit upstairs for a game and watch |

They are going to make the Hawks dump and chase too. Hawks want to win they are going to have to dig out pucks and crash the net. One and done way too often tonight. |

You put 1 guy on each line that allegedly should be able to drive the net/forecheck and hopefully create turnovers
The 8/19/20 line isnt going to free skate against this D like they did vs EDM
They need guys on each line that will drive the net to create space, IMO |

Ah that wonderful old Preds trap. Vegas was really stacking up the blue line though. Hawks has very little room to work if they did get some entry.
Nylander actually made some nice plays in the third. Attacked the middle of the ice drew a penalty and drove the net got a nice shot off. |

Don’t disagree about Dach and Debrincat but Dach is 19 and has been great until tonight. Debrincat and Strome both are big disappointments right now. But 88 is not moving his feet or his hands like he usually does. Too stationary and not very quick/elusive

All three on that line will get to the net. 77 will go to the net on the Kane line.
They can’t get out of their zone cleanly and transition into the o-zone - that’s where the problem is. |

Dcat and Strome MIA... at least Nylander made a few good defensive plays. Caggiula not doing much either.
Kane looks frustrated... - bhawks2241
Don't bother looking for Strome because he just can't play at this level and that's because his skating and speed is at the level of a once a week industrial league player.
And #12 'Mr. Cross Ice Pass in My Zone' isn't ever going to be a factor either in big time NHL games.
I hope Bowman sees that and saddles both of them up for shipment to parts unknown - like Buffalo or Detroit. |

Nylander has been solid.
Dcat at 6 mil is absolutely useless. Not sure he’s built for playoff hockey. Kane on the left boards is useless. His only option is pass or shot a horrible wide angle shot. - bhawks2241
I only said that all season and got blasted "this season is the aberration." |

Well that was sobering ,not in reality .The boy's had their chances 4 post Crow not his best game he a warrior leave him in there .
I would sit Nylander and Boqvist for Hagel and Carlsson or maybe even Seeler for this series .I am all for playing the young guys and Hagel and Carlsson are part of that youth movement and maybe add a little more grit against Vegas .
Don't get not pulling the goalie with 3 or 4 min left ,if your going to start conceding games should have done that a week ago . You never stop trying .. |

Would have to eat 3/4 of Dinky's salary to move him and I think 1/2 is the league rule max?

You want to play the Kids, so you want to tale out a 19 and 21/year old for a 21 and 23 year old, or maybe even a 27 year old? |

He was on the PP - but not 5 on 5
Deboer is a really good coach and Vegas has the talent to take ice away from Kane.
If people are unwilling to break up 8/19/20 to give Kane some help, the Hawks now go from a 2 line team to a 1 line team
3 of the goals Vegas scored were Hawks blunders. So defensively it wasnt all that bad. But they need to be able to create pressure which can draw penalties
Maybe go to -
Caggulia-Toews-Kane
Saad-Dach-Kubilak
Being honest here - with the way Toews has been playing, I'd like to see what Toews and Kane can do vs Vegas and if they'd have an answer |
