It’s crazy when you have to take a pre-game nap... just to watch. |

I hear that, but i guess it's good to complain about what time my team is playing Since they are still in the playoffs |

Dach can be every bit as good or better then Dubois in 1-2 seasons. Dubois is a fantastic 1C |

So?
The last 6 overall #1s are not playing in the next round. - StLBravesFan
I have a feeling that many of us don't care who gets the #1 overall as long as it is NOT Toronto or Edm.
Funny or maybe ironic to see Nashvlle get it. They have stockpiled $1 round centers, even traded one away. Their center depth hadn't won them anything. That is the comical or irony , yes right there.
Duchesne the latest to under perform. They lost the Johansson for S Jones trade. Granlund nothing much. R Wilson moved on to Colorado. Highly touted Turris hadn't scored much. Bonino is ok and Forsberg is good. Overall an underperformed team. |

I would guess 10:30 EDT is correct - no reason for it to be an hour later.
That Dallas-Calgary game is at 4:30; the early nite game in Toronto is at 8.
Game 2 is Thursday at 5:30 EDT. |

Toronto is Edmonton 2.0.
I wouldn’t be surprised to see the Leafs move one of their forwards for a high-end d-man. - DarthKane
They have to. Problem is Tavares and Nylander won’t bring back a top end defenseman, they’ll be forced to move Marner or Matthews. Oh well too bad so sad. |

Would you like to try for Holloway with our pick or settle for maybe a lesser quality prospect by trading down (as you indicated)
Really boils down to this: is it worth getting a higher #2 or considering our farm system, do you want to try to draft the best quality player in round one. My choice is to defer to whatever wiz says on this....but initially I want to try for Holloway if (role play as Bowman) Saad is going to be dealt eventually. I would like to keep Saad but I am uncertain how his future salary may be too much for his slot in the lineup. - jhawk59
At 17 Holloway would be my #1 pick, assuming there aren’t any surprises still there (i.e Quinn). At 22 there could be some quality guys available too, like Zary. No matter who the Hawks draft the prospect won’t be ready for at least 2 years (likely more). |

Or... if the Leafs win the draft lottery they have some options. |

Might be a difficult trade to acquire a top end dman. I mean a true first pair.
Which would you rather have, that true #1 dman or Marner/Mathews
I might go with Marner but if you have a good #1 dman, you shouldn't trade him no matter the compensation. |

I agree with your analysis
About Zary: I am needing my scouts to convince me what Zary ceiling is. I have this re-occuring thought of light weight centers, talented and fast, but how durable wil they turn out My comparison is D Brassard career. He currently is hanging on with the NYI

I could see the Leafs trying for Doughty. I can see the Kings do it with the right pieces.

I think you have to give Nylander another year.
Strome is playing for a contract. If he looks awful he could be looking at $2 mil or less. Put up or play cheap. He would be an ok 3C at $2 mil. He could slide up to 2C if Toews or Dach are injured. He could play a wing if necessary. So not a bad option.
It is good experience for Boqvist. He looks nervous. But he is 19. Let's see if he settles down a little against Vegas or in training camp next year.
There could be a lot of competition for the bottom 6 next year. |

Barzal went 16th, there are diamonds to be found at 16-20 in the draft.

Good luck to you guys. You’re showing a nice, young core with Kubalik, Strome, Dach, and DeBrincat.
I expect some nice strides in development out of this team very soon. Certainly showed it v. Edmonton |

I say the Rangers.
Should the Hawks remain at 17 I’d trade down to get extra picks. Maybe 17 and 55 to Ottawa for 22 and 33. - DarthKane
I would do that. |

I think the Hawks have no choice but to give Nylander another year, given the cap situation. If Strome takes a short-term, team friendly deal they’ll need that too.
Keith at 19 wasn’t as good as Boqvist at 19. That’s not to say Boqvist will be better than Keith, but all things considered, Boqvist is doing pretty well. |

Paul & Rick, I'm sure you're watching the leafs game. Your enmity towards them is well known. It's good to watch the underdog & the collapse.
Too bad, I kinda like that #11 - I Am The Breadman
I just killed a $100 bottle of red to mark the occasion. Drank it all myself. The 53 year losing streak continues. The center of the hockey universe is in flames again. F$ck the Leafs and their overpaid underachieving roster.

Oh, they already did that Darth - Khadri for the great Tyson Barrie. Dubas thought it was a great idea until Mike Babcock didn't.

I was surprised Sikura didn’t get a shot when Caggiula was suspended. If the Hawks go down 2-0 in the series I’d expect to see line-up changes and Sikura finally get a chance. - DarthKane
I don't see them benching anyone regardless of how the games go this is all about experience for guys they are counting on in the future which is NOT Sikura please god stop with him already.

I'll put a spike through my head if Pitt gets the #1 pick. |
