I hate the rangers so of course they get laf..im so bummed right now knowing laf is going to score on us as a ranger...if nj gets Rossi I will feel a lot better only because he is the only one close to laf's talent that the devils could realistically get..sigh. but anyway I'm hyped they got Walsh the only bright spot for us lol
- Rednblackk

Walsh isn't the only bright spot for us.
This year's 7th overall is a bright spot. Whatever they do with Coyote's and Canuck's 1st round picks is a bright spot.
Boqvist is a bright spot.
Hughes and Hischier are bright spots.
Bratt is a bright spot.
Smith is a bright spot.
Foote is a bright spot.
Kuokkanen is a bright spot.
Bahl.. may be a bright spot, hopefully.

Half of this team are bright spots lol.

Holtz/Perfetti- Guhle- Poirier and I'll be happy.
- smellmyfinger

Idk if Guhle will make it to late teens/early 20s.

I'd like to trade up to get Sanderson. Guhle/Schneider MAY be the best D in the draft after 5 years, but right now.. it looks like Sanderson is in a class above them, and some comparisons have him as the best all-around dman in the draft. If he's still there at 11, I package the 2 later 1sts and throw in whatever we can to get him.

Of course those things are bright spots but lol. I'm talking about some NEW news and those two late picks are literally blindly throwing darts aka luck especially when the devils don't seem to draft well after pick 15 (I know ty was picked 17th but he fell ) and let's be honest laf is brighter than all of our except Hughes mayybe

wait, so you're saying the Roy-Habs dynasty was a sham? that they were able to draft the best players in the draft because.. those players would only go to a Canadian team?
- MartysBetter88

I'm not an expert on the draft history but all of this draft advantages were long over by the time Patrick Roy showed up. He wasn't taken until the 51st pick in 1984 (round #3) which incidentally was the same year pooptburgh tanked their way into Mario Lemieux and we picked second and took Captain Kirk (Muller)...

I get what you're saying.
I'd be shocked if Hughes ends up being better than Laf.

This Tampa/Columbus series is so darn intriguing. You can't deny the pressure is more on Cooper than any person in that building. He tries to look cool, but I think he knows what's on the line- potentially his job, if his team doesn't win this series. I fully expect them to, but.. Columbus is playing well, skating hard, and they won't go away. The mental games could very much be a thing in this series.

But Tampa has Coleman and Maroon this year.. not a bad pair of guys to bring some jam and edge.
It's a shame 1 of these teams has to lose this series. I really want both of them to win the Cup. Hard work rewarded for Columbus and Torts, and Tampa finally putting some respect on those blue sweaters and all that talent.

I apologize if I'm spamming this blog with so many posts. Don't have many hockey friends.

What's the story and future outlook with Dubinsky? I'm looking at the cap breakdown for Columbus. PLD will need to be paid. Will there be a cap issue? It would be great if they could add just 1 more top 6 player. Maybe they expect Texier or Foudy to be that next season? I'm just wondering where they go from here.

They're a good team, with everyone buying in and playing hard. I honestly want both Tampa and Columbus to win the Cup this year. Columbus and Torts deserve to be rewarded, and Tampa needs to put some respect on those blue jerseys. You gotta believe Cooper has the most pressure on him out of anyone in that building. 10 years in Tampa and no Cup with all that talent.. another 1st round exit against Columbus would be tough. They got Coleman and Maroon for a little more jam, but still.. the Blue Jackets are no joke.

Wild game. Seth Jones with 55 minutes played so far. Hard to not root for Columbus with the group they have and the players they lost last off season.

The only good news (I guess) is that ny is not getting a franchise center lol..thats y I said Hughes he is more important as a center than a winger although that winger has Taylor Hall type potential or more...sigh.

It certainly looks that way. I mean hate aside, you have to hand it to them.

Henrik gets old and they have two outstanding replacements in the pipeline. They've traded away a ton of players for healthy returns to rebuild. Attract College free agent talent. Sign the top UFAs. Won the lottery from the 13th most likely from the end of the regular season.

Meanwhile we've been treading water since 2013. Have Lindy Ruff as our head coach. A GM who's never been an NHL GM (although I like Fritzy). Ownerships who get rid of our goal song. Get rid of our cheerleaders. Sell us on the Fan Experience which is watching the team get their asses handed to them....

Things are looking pretty sweet in Rangerstown and not so good in Devilville.

Perhaps, but there are many factors over the next few years that could change. Draft busts, draft surprises, injuries, cap problems, players underachieving etc. only time will tell.

Remember the old joke: what do the Rangers and the Titanic have in common? They both look great on paper until they hit the ice.
