Unfortunately, you can add the Rangers to that list, as well. Only for one season, but we have to navigate that somehow before we can set up for the future. Upgrading our 2C will be impossible without moving some salary. So, we might need multiple moves. - Tonybere
what an incredible coup it is to have won this lottery, it gives them so much freedom to do so many things
Lafreniere gives them an instant top 6 forward next year who will be making a base of 875K
Obviously, NYR needs another center. Would it be possible to get Eichel, if so, what would it take? Hank would have to be moved for starters, but who else could be used to get him?

You really think they rush him into the top 6 with Panarin and Kreider on the same side?
I would guess that Kreider is the most likely of the 3 to try a move to the right side. But, I would let the kid start out on the 3rd line at least to see how he adjusts to playing against men.

Panarin is right handed, I am sure if needed he could probably play the RW as well

I do, Lafreniere was only born a month late to be available for last year's draft, he'll be 19 when the season starts in December, no doubt in my mind he's ready to play right away, and a lot right away.

I think we see Kakko/Laf on the third line for half the year, centered by Strome. Then they mix & match if things aren't gelling. Strome as the 3C because they pick up a 2C in a trade.

I want nothing to do with Eichel.
We would have to trade 4 pieces and we finally have a full cupboard. Plus, I do not like his (perceived) attitude. That can be a delicate intangible in NYC. Love the make up of our locker room right now. And with another contract of that size, we run the risk of developing MapleLeafitis.

It's funny his skill and play making ability is off the charts but I am even more excited about his drive/desire to win and make his teammates better. I keep reading about that. Just seems like the total package

I'm with ya, Tony. Would be awesome to get a player of Eichel's caliber, but is it worth shifting the course of the rebuild for a player with a big contract and bad attitude? I vote not.
