I can't even imagine them sticking at 1 and passing on Lafreniere, it's such a clear cut choice this year
him and Byfield are not 1a and 1b like Hughes and Kakko were last year
there is a drop off - jimbro83
Lafreniere is also far and away better now then Kakko and Hughes. He is not on McDavid or Matthews level but def an Eichel level player. |

I think the real frustration is going to come with that 2nd first rounder
that one has "reach" written all over it |

Were all so sold on LaFreniere being our pick... but has anyone given any serious thought and consideration that maybe they go for Byfield instead? - aecliptic
Isn't anyone going to tell him to shut his dirty, whore mouth, or do I have to be the bad guy again??? |

I think we now go back to my argument from the day he was hired... is Quinn the right coach for this team? |

Fine by me.
We have a treasure trove of riches for once. If they want to take a Gordie Clark style swing for the fences, it will have less controversy than Olaf or Chytil or Kravstov, IMO. |

Im all for trading it to acquire a 2C. This may be the last time we draft so high for a long time and with the insane amount of talent available theres gotta be a rebuilding team that wants in on this with a player theyre willing to move. |

Where the hell is PeteV? I would have thought this definitely would have brought him out of the woodwork.

I would like to stay put for the most part this year. Trade Georgy if Hank isn't going anywhere. I'd sign Strome to a cheaper 1 year deal ($4.5-5M). This gives us another year to see what we have with the kids, especially Chytil and will walk Strome right into UFA which I'm sure he'd take a 1 year discount to do so. Especially playing with the offensive firepower he will be. Can either renegotiate with him during the year, so his new contract kicks in when Hank/Staal/Smith are off the books or trade him at the deadline |

Dylan Holloway seemed to struggle last year his freshman year at Wisconsin, wonder where he will go in this draft though

like I said, I don't think there is a chance in hell they would stay at 1 and pass up Lafreniere
if the Kings or Ottawa absolutely blew their minds with a trade offer? only conceivable way they end up with Byfield instead of October 6th |

The way Gorton was talking about him after he was asked about the ability to draft him 1 overall, yea there is no way |

the Kings are something else though, they probably have best prospect pool already in NHL and are probably adding Byfield to it, not too shabby |
