Strome was here and playing well before Panarin came on board. Although his numbers are likely inflated playing with Panarin, at some point he might actually suck much less than most posters on this board think. I wouldn't back up the Brinks truck yet, maybe 4.25-4.75 for one to two seasons to still prove he has earned it. I just don't see a better option out there via trade or FA to take a risk on.

It has to be a reasonable contract and no more than 2 years. imo

No money to offersheet. I have no problem giving Chytil the 2c even though most don't agree.

He's abysmal at draws but I tend to agree otherwise.

Something he can easily work on for next year. Its not like he skates like he is in glue and can't change that or something like that.

If hank retires and you move Tony and Strome, it can happen. Don’t take me off my high haha

Hahah yea...but hey offer him like 11-12 million per year, if Isles Match it puts them in cap hell to.

Win-win haha

He’s a 2C that could become a 1C, we’d get 3 years of him on an ECL. It’s the roster player/pick/prospect deal.
- nyrangers9479

But in return, we basically give them:
-our RWs, both of which are young. One of which is a grade A prospect who has the skill/potential to be very very good
-a very young C who could actually be our 2c
-AND a 1st, to boot

I would love to snag Byfield somehow. I just don’t think it’s worth it to lose all of those pieces for another “maybe”

What happens when Byfield goes 2nd overall lol
- TPC

Would have to be offered after the 2nd pick. Discussed prior and pending the 2nd pick

Buch is a good winger, if Kravtsov was our best prospect then it would be tougher, but with Kakko and Lafreniere it changes things. The 1st will be 20+ so not terribly concerned with that and Chytil I think will become a good 2nd/3rd line center that can fill in when needed. I think it’s fair for a guy that projects as a 1A/1B type center

Always thought that a 2C should be good a winning faceoffs, I really am old.
Now that he is really in the organ-eye-zation, he should really get the one-on-one coaching to improve that, same with Lias should he ever return. Boyle famously hired that skating coach one summer and his explosiveness was unbelievable until he settled back into his old ways a few months into the season. Chytil is on the cusp of really-goodness, I hope he takes the next step.

Agreed, no more than 2 years, too many kids knocking at the door. If Strome proves himself then (frank) TPC and sign him.

Problem with moving ADA is that he's coming off of a great year looking to be paid. What team is going to trade for an unsigned RFA of that caliber?

Only reason I don't like offer sheets is the other team could bide their time and (frank) you up just as bad eventually

Show me a better option in the system or via trade since we both (all) know there will be no un-affordable offer sheets.
