Monys line has played most of the game in our end against their fourth line

Our first line is getting caved in way to much so far... yikes 😬. BUTTTT anyway good win boys, thought the Stars took it to us at times when they ramped it up but I liked how the Flames responded under pressure.

Fck sakes if our 2nd & 3rd lines werent playing as good I would be breaking up that top line. Those guys need to find another gear & start to fly out there, then the Stars will be scrambling.

Not well in the 2nd but overall a good game. For as much flack as the 1st line is getting (and they didn't look great), they were ok. Johnny was forechecking, Monahan was winning faceoffs, and Lindholm was being a beautiful human.

Gio's play is concerning for me. I said it a few threads back: the top line takes a lot of flack but Gio needs to find a higher gear. We all know he can be elite but Brodie's been carrying the load so far on that pairing. Ras is awesome and quickly becoming one of my favorites.

Except your description of L1 actualy sounds like a L4 who happen to be PP specialists. If we wanna have the slightest chance of going all the way they have to start playing like a L1, and fast.

Agree. They have room to improve for sure but it's not all doom and gloom. It's nice to see that when Johnny turns over the puck he backchecks hard to put the pressure on. He's also been pretty defensively responsible. Monahan's been winning faceoffs and hitting more than he has in the past which is also great to see. Lindholm just does Lindholm things and excels everywhere on the ice. He's the straw stirring the L1 drink right now.
