Is Edmonton as nice as the city video montage prior to blues/Canucks game?

The NHL has always been fair to the Isles. Remember when the Leafs took out Peca and Jonsson? - ses111
I hate Tucker and Roberts, to this day. KJ was never the same after that cheap POS boarded him. |

Leafs team captain John Tavares where improvements need to be made to get the club past the first round
When we have high expectations and we don't come close to meeting them and we're in the situation that we're in, there are going to be questions and people may expect significant changes, but we have tremendous youth. It's been talked about a lot, but the harder thing to do is stay the course (with) the group and for us looking internally to each other, asking a lot of tough questions and challenging one another to be better, and how we can find our way to where we want to be.
I think there's no question that management is going to do everything they can to give us the best team possible and want to improve the areas that we need to improve in and they'll make those determinations throughout the offseason, but certainly the type of group we have, the type of talent and skill sets, it can be pretty special.
No idea how the Isles are surviving without this great leadership? JT wanted to stay the course with Garth and Cappy as well. - ses111
Pajama boy wrote that speech after Game 2. He has zero personality. And his name will never be on the Cup. |

This Game Lee took a run at Backstrom and Wilson challenged him for it. Nothing unusual about that. Both answered the bell. - nyisles7
took a run is pretty aggressive.. the guy went flying into him and Lee stood his ground. Lee is certainly not a dirty player by any stretch of the imagination. He had his best game as Captain last night.. IMO.
That 2015 series our fearless leader benched him in game 7 after he fought Wilson. One of the many reasons Capuano was the worst coach in history. I guess we really needed Reasoner's offensive skill in that game. |

Accurate. It was an unintentional pick if anything. Trying to call that anything more than a two minute penalty is absurd. Unfortunate that Backstrom got injured but that certainly wasn’t dirty in any sense of the word. |

JT doesn't get it.. truly. If he did he would never have signed there.. I hope they ask him to waive his NTC in the expansion draft and he gets taken by the Kraken next year.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KwRC3Dcqrzs here is the hit.. my point on the refs..
1. how is that not an instigator on karlsson?
2. how is it not 5 minutes for fighting? At least you get one of their best D-men in the box for 5 minutes.
3. Backstrom literally is looking behind himself skating right into Lee. He did not leap into him, bring his arms up, or even stride into the hit. Is he supposed to jump out of the way of the guy? |

Toews was really not good yesterday. I would not be shocked to see Boychuk in for him the next game. I can't see them taking Greene out b/c he played very well IMO. Although usually ice time tells you how Barry Feels and Greene was the least amount of ice time for the D on the team. |

Washington coach Todd Reirden called "late" and "predatory."
Carlson described Lee's hit as appearing "real dirty to me."

Don’t look at it through orange and blue colored glasses. Backstrom is not expecting it and Lee sees the impact coming and makes it count.
I don’t think it’s predatory but certainly late. Lee wasn’t standing there while Backstrom ran into him come on. Take another look. The league will thats for sure. That said I don’t think there will be any disciplinary action by the league.
If a Capital did the same thing to Barzal you would be screaming bloody murder.

They tell players not to watch their pretty passes, and keep your head up if you cut across the ice. Bac watching his work as he cut across the middle, creating a collision that Lee took advantage of. |

I agree and kind of what I was saying last night. I don’t understand what Lee was thinking. Although I’m not sure he did either the way he puts his hand up in question after the hit. The thing that concerns me is Caps are the type of team (and always have been Hunter/Wilson) to target our guys, clean or otherwise. Gonna be interesting to see what follows. |

I think he did slowed up a bit vs really distorting Backstrom. That said he probably could have avoided it, but I wouldn’t have either
