McCabe sucks less than those guys |

Beaulieu, Pominville, Frolik, Berglund, Sobotka, Scandella, Vesey, Sheary, Simmonds, Hutton, Miller, Montour and I'm sure im missing more.
I already gave you the options available at the time who could have taken those spots and achieved the same poopty results. He squandered picks for trash.
He was straight up garbage. He essentially swapped ROR for Joker, Kane for Skinner and he drafted Dahlin and Cozens like Murray drafted Eichel and Reinhart. They both missed on picks - Nylander and Mitts. He achieved the same thing as Murray - nothing.
He sucked. - jcragcrumple
No he didn’t suck. He was trying to make chicken soup with chicken sh!t. The only way this team will get better is by the draft, bargain UFA’s and now the biggest bargain trade shopping ever due to the cap crunch teams will now be in.
Can’t blame Botts cause he never had the chance to deal from a positive side. ROR and Kane had their trade values decline for non hockey reasons, Lehner was 2 bricks short of a load and you can’t blame the GM for scouts gone wrong.
This team is finally in a position to deal from a positive power side so Adams can’t use the excuse he was left with a mess |

Trading Eichel for the number 1 pick would do wonders for the Sabres. moving Eichel's money would be a huge get and to get Lafreniere. Start rebuilding again we sould get a haul for Eichel. - SABRES 89
Not sure if this was said in jest or not.
There is truth in this, but not sure the fanbase wouldn't revolt.
I love watching Eichel, I do. Every time he touches the puck he is capable of producing a goal. It is reminiscent of Perrault on LaFontaine eras.
That said, I would certainly consider it if I could get 3 solid pieces, 1 of which is the 1st-OA and the other 2 are "A" prospects/players.
And it is Blasphemy, but I would then work with LA to see about trading the 1st for the 2nd +.
Come the Draft, pick Byfield. That kid is going to be a stud!. |

at some point they will be having conversations behind closed doors about listening to offers or not
does anyone think we can hang with the bruins or bolts in the next 2 seasons?

I would listen with full attention, LA would be another opportunity.
If that move were ever made, Sam, Risto and Montour would be the next guys on the block.
If the Sabres could get 4-OA...assuming Lafreniere and Byfield were off the board, who are the next 2 guys they should target?

3 separate teams have thought Strome was the answer too.
The guy had 1 goal and 1 assist in 20 games before being dealt to the Rangers, and was pretty much a dad man walking until Panarin got there.
Now he’s going to get an inflated contract because he bag held Artemi.
No thank you. |

Maybe.
Or maybe he needs a talent guy like a Breadman ... or dare I say Skinner to finish.
LineCombinations site shows Zman with Breadman on line 1, and Strome with Kreider and Kakko on line 2. I didn't research based on most common linemate though.

Who from LA, Vilardi or Turcotte. You could possibly have a Center group of Cozens, Byfield and Vilardi or Turcotte and then draft Holtz at 8. Wonder if you could get Georgiev and say Kakko or Buchechev |

He shot at 22% last year also.
This year he shot at 11%, however he did spend a large chunk of the season with Panarin whom is a Hart Finalist.

AJ Klein came to the Bills "to win a championship".
And (few) people wonder why McD deserves a contract extension. |
