A lot of people look at basic stats like, Oh, Pilut is a good defenseman because he had a 60% CF with Risto.

Is he actually a good defenseman? Is he able to clear the net? Box guys out? How good are the players that he successfully shuts down? Can he block shots? Can he take pucks away with consistent success? Is he able to make intelligent passes in his zone to keep his goal out of danger? What's his hockey IQ? How well does he battle against the boards?

Or is it simply "I have the puck now, I can transition it with success"

Because there's a whole lot of evidence that the latter is much more true than the former.

And that's fine. But claiming he's this great defenseman because he had a 60% CF that one time with Risto is an annoyingly flawed argument.

Kevyn Adams has been around for almost a decade and the Pegulas have liked him, he, the players and the Pegulas liked Ralph - you don't - you lose.

Why go to the mat for the scouts for a team that has not made the playoffs for 9 years. From top prospects to players they traded for, pro scouts what did they gain from the fruits of their supposed labor? Why you are crying for canning the losing makeup of scouts? It makes sense when you don't hold on to what is losing for you. They had lost with what they had, they can either win with new heads and ways of doing things or keep losing but why are you crying for the losers?

Im just pointing out for anyone who is sick of the losing but not enraged by the sabres laying down when they agreed to the format despite their circumstance with montreal is (frank)ed

The upside to me is playing in the playoffs, having a good time being a fan and the chance at winning the ultimate prize. Its fun, and i love hockey and its more fun with my favorite team involved

People here and elsewhere want to trade eichel because they think a bunch of unknowns, picks, and prospects is more likely to win the cup in 5 years than just finding some goaltending and the right mix of supporting cast

Upper 3rd means 10th or 11th. Before we all assume that they're going to slash payroll to $60m, let's just wait and see.

Maybe they just want to spend money on the RIGHT people. I'm as curious as everyone what the hell is going on, but we'll see

The upside isn’t bad ...... mitts is the biggest wildcard. It makes literally no sense why he hasn’t progressed.
