I am still of the belief that having TM rush a rebuild that had barely started hurt this Franchise and put us in the situation we are know.

and that was at the owners direction

just like the owners bought into the rebuild with botts, only to do a 180 2 years later and expect them to win right away

when you are the worst team in the league, you can't flip a light switch and be a playoff contender within 15 months, which is what the owners expected both times

So you didn't want them steeping in and making sure Jack eichel and Skinner are signed long term ....

Just imagine Jack eichel being an RFA this year think about it

- gerbe75pts

Jack is the only one, Skinner was wrong. Having your GM speed up a rebuild was wrong, holding up a bonus was wrong, not letting another rebuild be completed because of the other rebuild you (frank)ED UP put you in this predicament was wrong.

I like Mikheyev a lot but he's not a 4 million dollar player yet, a move like this feels like another Vanek/Ehrhoff type deal. It would hurt to lose him but getting a 2nd rounder would be a decent return for a player that cost them nothing to sign, not to mention the fact that the Leafs could use more 1st/2nd round picks.

I think the Sabres would be better off trying to make a deal with the Leafs, using a D man to get Mikheyev, not one for one but something along those lines. That way they can deal from a position of strength as well as not have to overpay someone for 4 years, who may not even become a 4 million dollar player.

Skinner is only a Stud, when he has another Stud helping him. He was not worth the contract. If he could have proven this year he didn't need Jack to put up those numbers then fine, but he didn't.

Even if he hits on 25% of those picks we are better off.

OT #2 for Bruins/Canes. I gotta say, when the 3ER came up with the Olympic Village like venue to make sports great again, many are saying it is the greatest sports idea in the history of the modern era, I never knew it would be this good. Typical example of the 3ER outkicking his coverage. You're welcome sports fans.

I didn't want Housely and wondered why him? He barely had any head coaching exp beyond HS and I'm sick of Sabres' alums.

He would be off our radar if he was on another team or we would be thanking our lucky stars if we didn't sign him and some other sap team did, especially when you see the type of players who help teams win in the playoffs. It's not outside, periphery, soft, bad D guys who get contained especially when they need a hand holder.

Come on man. His goals are all around the net. He’s not sniping from 30 feet out.

Can we at least be honest?

At least we have Options at center talking to some Tampa Bay fans the value of Tyler Johnson is a 3rd round pick..

I would do it

murray was told to win after the 2015 draft now which was why he got ror, kane and lehner

he couldn't draft for sh!t or build a farm club

but they go from rebuild mode, to win now as soon as it looks like they are going to get eichel or mcdavid

this is a fact

when they hired botts, he said they need to develop talent at all three levels, echl, ahl and big club and the results will trickle up

they signed off on it

once we got dahlin, they expected to win right awy after a year, hence the trade for miller, vesey and grabbing johansson

the owners agree on one thing, and expect a 180 just because we drafted eichel

botts got the echl team on track and rochester

looks like he drafted well also

my gut says if his hand was not forced to rush it, in 2020-21 season we would be a lot better off then we are now again thanks to the owners

this is the worst franchise since kim and terry bought the team and I have no clue how some people can put them blameless year after year after year after year after year

And if everyone thinks it will be tough to get UFA'S to sign here, why would anyone waive to come here.

Copp is much more than a 4th liner. He's a top quality 3rd liner.

Larsson doesn't want to come back...?

- kingcong39

Your original trade suggestion was unclear to me, I thought you wanted to trade for Copp alone.
I'm fully on-board with trying to secure 10th plus Copp.
What would it take? Risto? Risto +?
