It is also kind of pointless to put pucks on net when the Hawks continue to fail to put bodies in front of Lehner. Not to the side of the net but right out front.
Nylander putting a puck on net from a bad angle, with a d-men in perfect position to block the shot anyways, with no other Hawks forward in position to clean up a rebound is pointless.
Vegas can put pucks on net from the point or bad angles but they have 2 forwards parked out in front looking for lose change. They also are a great possession team so they don't worry about taking a bad shot and losing possession. They just go get the puck back. - bhawks2241
Fine, got it, you like Nylander.
He’ll be back playing in Europe in 3 years. |

Forwards with no SATs in the first:
Strome
Toews
Saad
Kampf
Dach - StLBravesFan
Toews and saad had great shifts.
Dach was noticeable.
Kampf is a 4th liner.
The cow pie who wears 17 is the disaster and just gets magnified each and every shift he has.
17 should be benched light years ahead of 92. |

The bright side is that Strome is now going to be an affordable option at 3C. |

Crawford needs to speak up publicly after this game and apologize to his team. He owes this team a MASSIVE apology for his performance. Single handily holding us back and killing our season. - SimpleJack
Killing the season where they shouldn't even be playing right now? |

Let’s count how many times Nylander pulls up to avoid contact. I have once in the 1st period along the far boards, and once just now in front of the Blackhawk bench. |

Said this on the previous thread.
He’s leaning forward. Ducking shots. Lounging at pucks.
He’s not comfortable. 100%.
This is their 6th game and he’s had 1 good game so far. - SteveRain
Hey 6628 or anyone who would know:
Don't goaltenders need game action and a full training camp to be in top form? I realize goaltenders return from injury in season without a training camp. Nonetheless, covid even minorishbissue plus nhl layoff....expecting too much for Crawfordvto be in top form
It is [was] a gamble. Didn't trust the back.ups. Hoped that he would round into shape. Playing 19 yr oldvfast tracked Boqvist a mistake too. He isn't ready at his age with his [lack of enough] strength. Probably needs to grow into a man's body. Getting preresiquite strength probably entails two SUMMER training commitment. Or so i would guess.
CrawfordcandczBoqvist cost us. And Strome is too slow and doesn't provide other service like board game. ADB is not right with his body but needs time to het in shape he was in when he scored 40 plus goals. Again probably needs a summer and maybe more to realign. ADB did not loose ability. He needs to be in position to harness that ability |

Yes, he needs to be held accountable for killing a season where the Hawks were sellers at the trade deadline... |

Lehner just giving up a juicy rebound. 19 year old Dach knows where to park his backside.

Great shifts end in goals; good shifts end in chances.
No SATs for that group until Dach - going to the net - put one in. |

Im not so sure your are correct, that seems to be the system they have played the past 2 years under JC. Very consistent - so must be the system - glennjpawlak22

So do a lot of players on the Hawks. He isn't a power forward he isn't just going to bulldoze through a Vegas d-men.
He definitely needs to improve and bring it every night but I am not going to bury a 22 year old rookie. Sound like the crowd that bashed TT before he was sent to Carolina. He matured into a very nice forward.... he routinely avoided contact as a Hawk.

Crawford sux - 4 of the 6 goals given up to Vegas (so far) would have been saved by top NHL goalies. Nothing more deflating than the goalie letting in soft goals.
One difference between the teams is that Vegas actually shoots the puck. Maybe the Hawks should try that. - EbonyRaptor
I know we have had our differences, but here I completely agree with you 100%. That 2nd goal was similar to the last game when he let in a soft goal bloacker side.

Whatever the reason, 50 is hurting the team right now. He's always let in a softy, but made plenty of spectacular saves to make up for it . . . right now, he's let in at least three softies this series and hasn't dominated at all. Add injuries and illness to age and it is likely his time as a consistently elite net minder is over.
12 missed an open side two minutes into the period. No idea what is happening with him. Maybe he has some personal issues to work through.
