Well Domi will need a new deal. Will he be willing to play some wing because he wasn't top six playing time IF he truly is disp - wiz1901[leased at the present situation.
With his coach hospitalized, maybe his lot will change under "new management?"
The other thing is when in Arizona and his first year in Montreal I think he played hungry aggressive and even overly aggressive.
Then when he was elevated in the has lineup, he silenced the aggression and played like a skilled offensive player. (It killed my fantasy pick of him, because he no longer was blocking shots, taking pims, or even getting close up and froggy with the opponents anymore.)
So, maybe the demotion is to bring back the father's son from the years before.
We may have to throw in a Cracker Jack prize with Dinky.

I think that's a legit question. I was higher on Strome last year...but then we got Dach, who I think is going to really good in a couple years.
Like you I'm not really sure where he fits anymore, a little like AA before he was traded. That said, I'd rather have Anisimov as my 3C than Strome.
You mentioned Smith and Matta. I can't see anyone trading for Smith unless equally bad money comes back. Someone might trade for Matta. If not they can both be bought out fairly reasonably to make Cap Space. - HawkintheD
Yeah, I think you are right....buyouts are likely this offseason unless Bowman packages a pick and/or prospects to trade them. To me, I dont like that idea given the fact they need all the picks/prospects they have to expedite the "retool"
Lets hope we grind out a W here in an hour. I just can't get into MLB and zero interest in NBA |

Pretty low probability that the Hawks can beat Vegas 4 out of 5 games, which makes this essentially a must win game. Hawks played a bit timid, hit 2 posts, and did not get good goal-tending.
Shake up the lines, play with more urgency, and a bounce-back game from Crawford...Hawks win 5-3 with the 5th an empty netter! - EnzoD
Love it.....lets go!!!
Going to hit up my home gym and to pass the last hour before tuning in.

Are buyouts allowed under the collective bargaining agreement in effect after the playoffs end? The new CBA does not allow compliance buyouts, unless I am not understanding |

Without butts in seats I don't see buyouts happening. The Bulls appear unwilling to buyout Boylen.

True Hawks fans stayed up and watched the LA_Blackhawk game where Carol Vadnais fought Keith Magnuson three times ... there are benefits to not sleeping. - wiz1901
(frank)ing right I stayed up.
Carol Vadnais jumped Maggy the first time. Started quick almost to the point of a first sucker punch the 2nd time. Denis DeJordy told Maggy on the bench if it's a square off even fight you'll kick his ass. And Maggy smoked him in the 3rd fight. The ref had to order Vadnais to drop his gloves to square up and go. Vadnais had a nose like a shark fin, if he did the backstroke in Tampa Bay they'd call the shark week film crew. And when Maggy got done that beak looked like it made a right turn and was closer to his ear than the middle of his face. |

The hawks really don’t have the depth to handle a team like Vegas who have four deep lines and a strong defense. The last game the hawks tried to defend all game, maybe a huge surprise may be to make this a track meet and open the game wide up. It may be the best tonic for ADB and Kane to get dangerous? - paulr
That OR convert on the PP.....
Man what a job Torts is doing in Columbus. Lose Bob, Panarin, Duchene, and they oust the leafs and they are giving Tampa another poop sandwich.
Guy maximizes the effort of his teams. Give him that. |

Due to half a season and playoffs of empty seats some teams are going to be in financial difficulties he this offseason. If Bowman can get creative maybe he can take advantage of any buyouts and try to get some team depth from other team’s misfortunes. |

I would think it is, but haven't checked. Not a free one....Im talking the Hawks would still have a minimal cap hit on their books. Not the post work stoppage free bes of 2013. |

Great point
That's why to me....Kubalik is a no brainer to sign for 2-3 years at a reasonable cap hit.
I can't wait to watch the leafs try and navigate that fiscal disaster up there. |

Torts has the right guys to play that style, There’s no way the hawks could do that. But yeah he has them playing a solid, if boring to watch, tough defensive game. Trouble is Torts will turn off the team in the next season or two because he can’t stop himself from acting like an ass with his players. |

Wirtz family has DEEP pockets.
Can't keep signing Euro guys....panarin, Kubalik, hitting HRs and then being forced to trade them to keep aging players.
Think there will be butts in seats early 2nd quarter of 2021.... |

Yeah the days of red ass coaches longevity in one spot is over.
I like the Flyers coming out of the east.
I'll take ANYONE but Boston
West....I still like the Avs. They likely get a test, assuming NO upsets this round, vs STL, but I don't see Dallas, Vegas or STL beating them 4 times in 7 games. |

A thousand apologizes to fellow poster, Abadseed, who wrote this and I instantly contradicted hiM:
The hawks got the penguins second rd pick it should drop as Pitts out already. - Abadseed .
No excuses but as the trade deadline deals were coming in and I was trying to update, somehow I never "heard" that Vegas needed the Toronto cap space to make the deal and that Vegas also gave Toronto "expansion draft considerations" and the Vegas 5th rounder.
So the hawks select in slot #50 as I see.
Cap friendly board is incorrect for rounds 2-7 as they will not adjust the play in losers into the entire draft, just the first Round....

I would very careful on kubalik and how much term and money hawks give him. 2 years at 3 million no more he imo is a 3rd line rw not a physical player for the most part not a great skater average at best does posses a nhl shot. Lets see what he can do in a couple seasons after this one and see if he is consistent or a one year wonder. |

Strome will get $2, KK $750K. Stan can offer anything he wants nobody is going to out bid him for those two. - rpeters01
It’s been pointed out multiple times that you don’t research anything you post but as a rfa kk currently make ing 925k needs a 10% bump to be qualified. |

Boqvist out, Carlsson in, per NBC Sports Chicago.
Patch out for VGK.
I think they said the pairs were:
Keith - deHaan
Matta- KK
Murphy - Carlsson
And yes, that’s the order they were listed.
So, will Boqvist be the 2nd young defenseman JC runs out of town?
