Is Mikael Granlund an upgrade from Strome? Hes only a year older than Strome, and has had a much better individual career than Strome. Hes a UFA coming off his worst year in 5 years. Seems like ever since he got to NSH he didnt seem to fit in.

I just don’t see many options out there. I’d ride it out and see how Barron works out, see if Chytil takes the next step. If we can get Cirelli great, if not let’s sign Strome to a 2-3 year deal and wait until next year.

I have been giving this some thought:

Because of the flat cap this year ( and next ) we may see an unusually large number of players bought out as teams struggle to get under cap. We might be able to get some legit, veteran players for pennies on the dollar. Kind of like when Girardi and Shatty signed in Tampa. Hopefully, the players will be of higher quality...

That may be a small part of it....

The main part of it is they dont have Trotz.

It doesnt matter so much whos on your team, its having a coach that can push the buttons and make them play like champions.
