I might need one of those today. I live in the cheesesteak barren lands of the south. However, about a year+ ago, we got a Capriotti's (Delaware chain). Definitely better than anything else that I've had in the south. The key is that they fly in the bread. If anyone's in Delaware and you haven't been there, its worth it. If feeling adventurous try "the Bobbie".

Oh, and just because burbs go provolone doesn’t mean they’re doing it wrong. Lotta fantastic cheesesteak jawns in the burbs. Many of those inner city families moved out that way. Dalessandro’s is a personal fave.

The people who eat wiz are those who line up outside Pats or Geno's or Jim's. Those are usually south Jersey types or kids from the burbs. Its gotta be Provolone, followed by American. There has to be fried onions.

You nailed the Johns Roast Pork though. I would put D'Allesandro up there. There is a falloff after that.

Speaking French is more than just an affectation in Quebec. They feel their culture is threatened, they have been trying to secede forever. Speaking French is more than a language skill for a symbolic figure like a Habs coach. It would be equivalent to an Eagles coach saying he does not understand or like south Philly.

In the late 90s, I was actually told by a shop-owner he did not understand English in a drugstore in Old Montreal (which is very unlikely, since it is so touristy).

Individually, I'm a big fan of Farabee, Grant, & NAK. But I just don't really like the look of that line. Seems like a thrown together hodge-podge. But AV has done a great job so far, so we'll see how it goes. I hope it works out.

And whiz is not the "right" cheese for anything. Except maybe a constipated dog.

If you need the stank of provolone to enjoy your sandwich (no hate), just get a roast pork with sharp prov and don’t waste your money on a steak.

The ribeye and onions go best with melty American or wiz.

The John’s Roast Pork double whammy is the only way to go. One of each and split it.

Thanks Bill! Was yelling at the tv during that second period for AV to use a timeout! I think it would have really helped to settle the boys down. The proof is how they played in the third period after going in the room and regrouping. Let’s Go Flyers!

My preferred Philly sandwich is roast pork with broccoli rabe and sharp provolone. If you're looking for a heart attack on a roll go with the Schmitter at McNally’s in Chestnut Hill
