I don't think Pearson was given enough time. Sometimes players just go through spells. He played 44 games, scored 9 goals and 4 assists. Ok, not great, but he kept get shuffled around the lineup. He wasn't producing, but he was playing well. They should have just given him some more time. I'm not saying you're wrong, but I don't think they waited enough time to find out. - Rinosaur
I don’t remember his other numbers but I do remember him not being a liability while not scoring either.
Not gonna lose sleep over that one. Just noting his solid play for Van this year. |

He sucked on the oilers too haha. Not all players that go to teams pan out. We have a lot that didn't pan out but we also have lots that have. I'd say it's about even. We have had tons of players here in the Sid/Geno era. |

If I recall, he scored a lot when he first got here but then went cold. JR got him for Hags because his scoring dried up. VAN has made a lot of good moves lately and Horvat is a stud. I really like the pickups of JT Miller and Toffoli, even though the latter is injured now. |

The more I think about Max Domi the more I think he's kind of exactly what we're looking for in a 3C. What we really need out of our 3rd line is scoring, and we have a fantastic shutdown line in the 4th unit already, so we can stand to have a defensive liability like Domi that thrives with offensive deployment who can feast on opposing bottom sixes and create matchup nightmares for other teams. His hyper aggression is also the exact kind of thing that can inject new life into this team. He'll definitely be expensive for a 3C, but he probably priced himself down this season from what was looking like a sure bet 1st liner contract last year. Him being played in the bottom six during this playoff run Montreal is having isnt helping his trade or contract value either.
JR's gone after him before. Bergevin and Mario are friends. The Domis and Mario are friends. Let's get a deal done. |

Well, as you like to say about peoples' opinions, "you are wrong." But because you "know 100%" (even though you are wrong), then I'm really glad I won't be having any more discussions with you. I do remember that guy and enjoyed his input, that is, until you ran him off with your insane proclamations and immature confrontations. - Hockey66

Watching the caps Islanders game last night I realized that the Pens were not even really ever in the bubble playing hockey. Both those teams would have eatin them alive. |

Agreed. Much like last year, it didn’t really matter who we played. We flat out just sucked. The only team we may have been competitive against is possibly the Leafs. I’d say Edmonton too, but I think McDavid would have single handily beat us. Like I said before, I don’t want to take away for Montreal playing well, but we deserve more blame than they do credit here. |

Imagine having players you can play on your 4th line, who score big goals and play against the other teams 1st line. Guys like Matt Martin and Casey Cizikas. 👍 |

After reading through a lot of rumors and some of JRs comments about becoming younger.
I think Domi and Namestnikov (who plays center, but also plays great on either wing). Would be great pick ups. Both play hard and don't mind working in front of the net, and put in effort in the defensive zone. They might not be "sexy" pick ups, but I think they would put the same effort we saw with Tanev. Which I believe should be the players we go after.
I think Jesper Fast is someone to watch. I know there were rumors of him coming here at different points and he currently is a FA |

Dereck Grants another player that was Sullivaned. Has had scoring success in the bottom six in the NHL but gotta make room for Simon to score 2 in 56 games on Sids wing. |

Hahaha I was thinking about Grant the other day. He seemed to play solid and would get demoted then traded "because he didn't play Sullivan's style of hockey".
I am still puzzled to why they didn't stack the first line with Zucker and Guentzel during the play offs since they could play either wing, but they continously plug in 3rd line winger options (yet didnt try Bjudstad there when he was healthy). Don't misquote this, because I think Sheary at times played well there. I just find it strange as to why this always happens. Especially when Marleau looked pretty good with Malkin and Rust during the season.
It may have been the boost we needed, but changes weren't really looked at during camp or the exhibition. Sullivan had his lines in mind and even with Rodriguez, Jarry, and Lafferty showing they were hungry and good out the gates at camp, they never had a realistic chance of making the starting Roster night one in Montreal |

Always thought Namestnikov was pretty good and never really understood why he's kind of bounced around. He's not super young anymore, but far better than getting a 30+ year old that could downswing at any moment like E. Staal, I guess. I wouldn't get both Domi and Namestnikov though since they both shoot left. I think its an either or proposition, and Domi is the clearly preferred option there. |

Was it game 3 when Murray gave up that bad goal with plenty of time left on the clock? Their performance after that was soooo bad. No push back at all. I have yet to see another team go through the motions like that in these playoffs. Even if they got through the Habs, that's when I knew the Pens had no chance. |

I just wonder what it would cost to get Domi. If they can ship out Bjugstad in that deal or by some miracle, Hornqvist I would consider that a win. |
