SENS HAVE DONE AN AMAZING JOB OF PICKS/TRADES/SCOUTING. THE 3RD AND 5TH PICK CAN CHANGE THE ORGANIZATION TREMENDOUSLY. I WOULD ONLY TRADE 5 AND ISLANDERS PICK AND SOME 2ND ROUNDERS PLUS ROSTER PLAYERS. PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD PIERRE DORION RELAX WITH THE LAFFY PICK.😕

Yes yes Pierre do it. Just to see the reaction of Habs fan would be golden. Laf gonna bring people from Outaouais side to the ctc and maybe Desmarais pony up his offer to buy the team |

Michael Stuart: Phillips to Lead New Senators Foundation; 3 + 5 = 1? - Michael_Stuart
Wonder how much money will ACTUALLY go to the community this time...
When it comes to dealing for the 1st...I’m indifferent. It would be a lot to give Picks 3 and 5...but you’d also be getting an elite/franchise winger that could fit really well with this team.
I think a better discussion would be if the Sens would make the deal if it were either:
Picks 5 and Islanders 1st
Or
Pick 3 And Two 2nd rounders.

I agree 100% with this post, the 3 and 5 picks in such a deep draft will accelerate the Senators rebuild.

Thanks, One move like this can really hurt our rebuild, If we end up doing that and grab laffy! imagine one hit/injury that can be life changing/season ending and were done, I say having 2 picks we have insurance to pick up if someone has fallen off.

Interesting trade suggestion, I think Logan Brown is a bust so I like this trade. I think Nick Paul is a much better player who needs to be protected over Brown in the Seattle
In their expansion draft.

It's not even a sure thing that Laf will be better than Byfield or Stutzle.
Fact: The draft will happen with Laf going to NY and then the Sens will draft at 3 & 5. This is all B.S. which people will forget about shortly and forever |

Just keep picks 3 and 5 unless the Rangers would entertain 5 + NYI 1st + Brown + OTT 2nd...
If not trade the NYI 1ST plus other picks to move up higher in the draft. Teams like Pittsburgh or Winnipeg may be open to acquiring more draft picks |

How’s about 3 and 5 and two seconds for 1 and the other ny first? I mean... how many picks do you need? Can only have so many contracts signed at one time in a few years. |

Logan Brown is being groomed for the #1 center job. Why would Dorion consider moving his #1 center prospect. At 6'6" 230lbs with exceptional vision, puck handling and passing skills makes him a very rare commodity. Anyhow that deal for #1 is all media hype. |

Still too early to call him a bust, but he certainly has had his share of growing pains (which could explain why he's injured so often).
If he becomes a consistent second line center I'l take it as a win. Right now, if he's who they are hoping to be their future #1 this team is in a lot ot trouble.
How many number one centers didn't crack an NHL roster until they were 22?

I can't see New York giving up #1 They would be stupid too. Laf fits into their line up with Zib so well.
Plus if he ever turned into a Mcdavid or Ovechkin or superstar like that, they would never hear the end of it.
I still think LA is going to take Stutzle. So we should pick...
#3. Byfield - Bolstering our forwards
#5. Drysdale - securing our future D core
I also think we should try to trade the Wings for #4 and pick up Rossi. |

I agree with your picks - or at least I don't mind taking Drysdale at all!
With that said I think there's a better chance of trading for McDavid than the Sens drafting 3rd, 4th, & 5th overall. Are you saying trade 5th overall+ and draft at 4?? |

I mean so you're saying there a chance at us getting Mcdavid.... yup lets do that hahahahaha
I was saying put a package together, Maybe the Islanders 1st and a player and prospect, etc to for #4.
Ottawa had more then enough prospects.... I could be day dreaming but I think Rossi could fit into Ottawa's line up quite well. Especially if we are already covered with prospects like Byfield at forward and Drysdale on the back end. |

Brown was NHL ready this year. So was Batherson, Chlapick, Balcers, Paul, Hogberg. Look around the league other teams keep their kids on the big team although they're not ready to be impact players. But here in Ottawa we believe all the crap Smith tells us and the media that has to check with the Sens org before making any statement. Some of us have dabbled in the art of player evaluation in the pass and sometimes we see things differently.
P. S. Even Brown's agent was upset when they cut him. Player agents hire scouts to evaluate their clients so the disagreement was not unfounded.

Logan Brown will never be a number 1 center in the NHL, maybe not a second line one either. He is big but plays small. I like the way Nick Paul has progressed, he is on the verge of going to the next level. |

But it would take a massive package to do that |
