I know PK did not play to expectations and carries a large cap hit but he is a leader and I hope he remains in NJ. A better season would be nice though |

If you look at everything PK brings, on and off the ice I totally agree.
There has been rumors surfacing of him going as his contract nears but I do like having him on the team especially for the youth movement.
He does need to be better though. |

Only reason I say keep PK is because we'd have to add a lot to any deal trying to get rid of him. Don't mind having him around though, especially when we aren't going to be good for the remainder of his contract.

The Sens and Devils can make a deal here...
PK for Zaitsev
Zaitsev has a significantly smaller cap hit but is spread over a longer period.
PK would be a great addition to Ottawa in my opinion. |

Let's face reality, the whole team sucked last year with only a few bright spots. I'm optimistic that PK will show more of his old self in the upcoming season vs. last year's PK. I could be wrong, but I still think he can be a strong 2nd pair guy. |

I feel this way too. I mean no defenseman has looked good in our system in years.
Not to mention we are so short on legit NHL defenders.
And really this team needs a personality.
I never felt PK off ice was affecting PK on ice.

Are you guys hoping AZ's pick stays where it is or are you rooting for them to make the conf finals with hopes they re-sign Hall and we get their 1st next yr too? |

Them making conference finals and re-signing Hall is best case scenario, but there is no way they beat the Avs. |

It could just be me, but he looked like he was trying so hard to skate yet not going anywhere fast. |

I think he had a lingering injury. Hopefully this long time off will help with his mobility. |

They should give it to Henrik. Dumbs is lame. He's a joke. |

Agreed. I think he was trying too hard to show Nashville made a mistake to trade him.
He was caught in the offensive zone too many times trying to generate offense and he was slow.
I would give him a pass as we had an AHL defense out there most nights.
I do believe he will be a better player and a better defender. He has always been a great teammate that any team would love to have.
Mind you , he wasn’t always. Early on in his career in Montreal rumor was he was toxic. Everyone matures and he has. |

He was toxic to Carey Price, who is an asshat.
But maybe PK was too overbearing. |

Amazing man who's contributions beyond hockey will never be forgotten, but he is no longer a great D in this league. He is a fringe top 4, but that obviously is not what this award is about. I feel Dumba will win this, but that 10M donation will forever keep PK as a top notch guy who helped children and minorities. Who cares anyway, we still have 26M cap space. Congrats PK, you are an absolute class act outside of the rink and will continue to be a hero to many aspiring athletes. |

Roger welcome back to writing for the Devils. I've read all of your articles since your return, and so far so good. My only comment is that Spell/Grammar check is your friend. Use it. |
