Difficult to tell when he hits UFA status with him being an unsigned free agent.
He is interesting enough that signing him to a 4 year deal at between $3M-$3.5M might look very good as early as next season. - kingcong39
i really liked the way he looked in buffalo last year...however, it was only six games and there was absolutely no pressure on him or the team...
i'm in favor of a bridge...it's a gamble as he could explode, but he skated with some pretty good players in toews, saad and debrincat in chicago as well as malkin and hornqvist in pitt...not sure who he'll be with in buffalo next year |

Go to the youtube and fast forward to 53.40 they start talking Sabres and mention this and Kyber says " you don't go from running the Buffalo Jr Sabres to trading Jack Eichel" LOL
So, they are going to have build the team around him and not keep the same soldiers. |

From the Dobber website:
2018-2019: 55% of his time with either Debrincat or Toews
2019-2020: 16% with Malkin, 11% with Hornqvist, 18% with McCann
2019-2020: Most of his time was spent with Johansson (and Vesey), but as you said, the sample size was only 6 games |

If you project Kahun to continue or even improve upon his .5 PPG numbers even with the limited minutes he plays and his 65% offensive zone starts, is he the kind of player you attempt to get a 4 year deal done at say $3M-$3.5M to see if you can get a player on a quality deal, instead of going with a one or two year bridge deal? - kingcong39
his size worries me on injuries.. |

I love your posts ! Appreciate the detail.
I think Kahun can be a very good complimentary piece whom can play off of a Jeff Skinner.
Just need to find a Center to play between the 2 of them.
If not I like the looks of a Mojo-Cozens-Kahun third line. - Pegullaville
i think we need better in the top 6 and that 3rd line sounds good... |

Played at a 41 point pace with the likes of McCann, Hornqvist, Bjugstad, Ashton-Reese

The more I read, the more I like.
Seems like he drives play at 5v5 and is very good at generating offence as a play maker.
Seems like a very good analytical combo with Skinner but that probably means he’ll never see the ice with him 😂 |

I see no injuries during his first 2 seasons.
He played all 82 his first season with Chicago.
I find the size fascination interesting.
Kahun is listed at 5'11 175 and size is a concern.
Cirelli is listed at 6 foot even and 193 and people say he has good size.
It's tough to draw a correlation to determine certain sizes are more at risk than others unless they are extremes, and Kahun's height and weight does not feel like an extreme towards the low end. |

If you go with Skinner at LW and Kahun at RW on the same line, you definitely want a Center who can also handle himself defensively as Kahun has received 65% offensive zone starts his first 2 seasons.
It won't happen as I believe Nashville really likes him, but I believe Bonino would be a great fit between Skinner and Kahun. |

i want to be able to roll 3 solid lines so people aren't so focused on Eichel.
i dont know for sure but i feel like our home record is better than our away record because of that.. i might be completely wrong on that so feel free to prove me wrong |

Well, consider the facts.
Eichel and his line were generally the only ones consistently scoring. If Eichel wasn't scoring, the Sabres had little chance of winning.
Eichel dominated at home and got absolutely stuffed on the road.
There's ways to prove your theory, but it sure as poop can't be simply coincidence. |

the caseys--nelson and mittelstadt--also had great six-game debuts with the sabres...
that said, i really liked that olofsson/mojo/kahun line |

My ideal acquisition this year is Mangiapane from Calgary. Maybe Montour + Asplund can get that done
Bonino has one year left on his deal, maybe he could be had for a 2nd rounder in 2021 and we can give him an additional 2 years on his deal.

I’m not sure you will be able to swing two Samson level rw’s.
89s info is interesting and locks down the rw spot for Monte....
Now you have Risto, picks, and prospects to fix 2c. - Gr8daygo
Maybe you don't need it. Sam for Domi, Risto for Copp. Sign Craig Smith
Olo-Eichel-Smith
Skinner-Domi-Mojo
Kahun-Copp-Cozens
Assorted Larrys
Is it perfect? No. I think it's better though. And the D is still fine (or as fine as it was) |

If they trade Montour and Risto they will have to bring in a veteran D who can play the PK and in the top 4. I think hopeful Sabres fans are putting too much hope on Joker and Dahlin to be solid defensively, especially against top talent. But if it gets rid of Risto for some, the flashbacks to the tank back end be damned, especially with not exactly world beaters in net.

With that plan, it would just be Risto leaving. I understand some people have hesitancy to trade both, so this would mean re-signing Montour I guess. I'd move them both, personally. Cord cutting time |

You're right ....
Kypreos : The other one that I'm hearing, Mac, an I'm not telling you and I don't want Buffalo to start calling me saying I'm reporting anything, but there are some people in our inner circle that say Jack Eichel isn't happy and wouldn't mind exploring a move.

I haven't seen a heck of a lot of plans of keeping Montour and more and more with trading them both and just building up the forwards which has me scathing my head and being thankful that none of us are the GM.
