you turned a question about your disdain for him into many people believing he's "special"...
everything you write about him seems to come off as something personal against you...i don't get that...
jack likes him, believes in him, had his best statistical season, best all-around on-ice performance and completely bought into what ralph was selling...how bad can that be? - Michael Pachla

jack played a complete game this season, his dedication led to the stats
I mean if ralph gets credit for jack playing his best hockey ever same logic should go to his wingers - homiedclown
like the rookie victor olofsson whose 42 points (22+20) in 52 games had him on a calder-nominating pace if he wasn't injured?
or skunk who continued to do what he's done silently for years?

I don't agree that Ralph handled all his players well. Jeff Skinner had an atrocious season, and that's partly/mostly his own fault.
Several reporters claimed he was floating through practices. Ralph isn't performing on the ice for Jeff. Jeff is on the ice performing for Jeff. He needs to be better. Everyone needs to be better.
And with Jack, I definitely give Ralph credit for helping him and Dahlin develop their two way games. I think once Dahlin gets better at his 200' game, he frees him up more to make more offensive plays. Just a hunch. - TheSabresTaco
and he should have jumped all over him...a $9million player shouldn't be floating, even if it is "only" in practice |

jeff have such a bad season is a combination of the lack of a real 2C and putting olo on the top line in place of him.. i put just as much blame on Botts for Jeffs bad season as i do ralph |

I agree with that, they did not enable him to have his best season. But I blame all 3. Jeff, Ralph, Jason. Like Pach says, 9M can't float. Can't.

I agree with skinner and him being with horrible center. I mean what do you really expect with Johansson or Erod as his center? |

what you said is exactly right...players perform for the coach, not visa versa...
that's prima donna sh!t thinking it the other way |

This reminds me of how mostly the entire Bills roster to a man said they would go through a wall for Richard Jauron.

So if Jeff is so special then, why pay him $9M dollars when a $3M dollar winger would also need a high end Center to produce ?
Seems like a waste of cap to me.
I expect my $9M player to shine.
I expect my $9M winger to make Marcus Johansen look like how Ryan Strome looked this year carrying Panarin’s jock. |

Everyone knew that MacT wanted the "hotshot" coach. How'd that go? 😉
And many people said it was a mistake that they fired Krueger. |

The name Jeff Skinner is like the Bat Signal to you to share the same take you've been littering these boards with for days, weeks, and months.
You've beaten the dead horse beyond badly at this point. |

Krueger has a charisma about him that makes him well-liked in almost every community he steps into. That, more than actual results, has got him to where he is now. And that goes for Edmonton as well as the soccer team. |

He had ONE year in Edm.
That's unheard of.
They wanted Eakins because he was supposed to be the next big thing.

For the most part, coaches play the safest players the most and lean on them.
Ralph employed a very safe, defensive, often boring style of play.
Until I see him actually change that style of play and not lean on similar, vanilla, boring players, I have a difficult time believing the team will end up where it needs to be, and to get there, they need talented players that are not vanilla and safe in terms of how they play. - kingcong39
Well that goes towards having the horses to play a certain style. |

You guys act like Mojo hasn't produced before. It's funny how Skinner was producing pretty good until Mojo and Sobotka got hurt on that overseas trip, and never seemed to find it again after that. |
