Says who? Even so, it's exceptionally rare for an 18 year old defenseman to make a true impact. Even Dahlin was pure offense year one and Dahlin blows Drysdale out of the water. - TheSabresTaco
He could make a impact like cam did with ducks ... But I would still do the trade because then you can focus on getting him Partner |

Why would the Oilers have any say about a Col prospects? And yes, he was classified as “NHL ready” |

Then the Leafs will make it to the ECF and it will be due to their “playoff experience” and finally getting over the hump. |

"I like Johan Larsson and Zemgus Girgensons. I really do. I dont think they've done anything wrong. I liked their line this past year. And I don’t want them back. I think it's time to move on from guys who have lost, and lost, and lost, and lost and lost."
- Pham on the instigators.

i wouldnt be against them if their contracts were for 1.5 mil.. 1 on 4th line and the other can be the extra player.. but we need to be better on the 2nd and third line |

Give me some of that but fourth liners who have lost, and lost, and lost won't get it done. Dabble a little higher and start to paint this team differently.

I'd much rather bring in 2 middle-6 centers and let Cozens get his feet wet centering Asplund and Okposo on the 4th line.
The entire 1130 segment was just about the stale roster and the need to bring in fresh faces. It's worth a listen.

Sure I am. He'll get his shot in the top 6 eventually. Put him on the 2nd PP and give him 4th line minutes. There will be injuries and he'll play higher up the lineup eventually. |

Pham?
I called him out for making poop up about the Sabres not getting Antipin a translator and then not retracting what he said.
He's right about Larry fatigue |

easier said than done.. get two centers that are of 2nd and 3rd line quality is not an easy task in one summer with a GM who ruined your secondary rink by for getting to do one of his more important tasks.. but who knows |

Seemed like it ran a lot deeper than that.
I think he makes a very good point about Larrys, that extends to a lot of other guys.

If the Sabres don't win this year do they blow the whole thing up especially if Jack wants out?
Besides Jack blowing it up will be like setting off a few firecrackers anyway they don't have much besides Dahlin.

People are way to hung up on specifying a center is a 2nd line or 3rd line fit.
That's a way to set yourself up to be disappointed.
The realistic targets are all 3rd line quality (Henrique, Copp, etc.), but the point is that getting two quality, real centers and putting them in the middle of the 2nd and 3rd lines would go a long, long way towards improving the on ice product instead of waiting on hopes and dreams like has been the case the past 2 seasons. |

What's there to blow up? They don't even have 2 lines of offense!
This all lands on the Pegulas. They fired Regier and George McFly and had a plan. They brought in LaFontaine and Ted Nolan.
They should have listened to LaFontaine, and let him have the reigns.
Now it's let's just throw darts at a board for a GM and HC...

I think even looking at it in terms of 2nd line or 3rd line or 2nd pair or 3rd pair on the backend is a old way of thinking.
Ice times and in game situations call for different players at different times. Some players should be used in offensive situations, others in defensive situations.
