The contract might be 5m -6m and that would be amazing - gerbe75pts
Evolving Hockey has his most likely next contract (42% most likely, which is a big number for Evolving Hockey) at 6 years @ $5.8M per. |

Welp then make the trade ..
If it doesn't cost Cozens I don't think anyone here would care About the cost imo - gerbe75pts
If the cost is the 8th overall this year, Jokiharju, and the 2021 1st, some might care just a bit. |

There are going to be some really good talents available to us at the top of the 2nd round.
8th and 38th May be the 2 most important picks in the history of this franchise.
Need to hit on both.
Adams needs to do just enough in the short term to keep Jack happy while Cozens, 8th OA this year get up to speed.
This decade will be much kinder to Buffalo nation then last decades. |

I said it before the playoffs started, and only watching Tampa so far has reinforced that belief.
Tampa should move Stammer before moving Point or Cirelli.
Maybe that’s why Stammer is healthy and refusing to play |

It sounds like a lot but in the end you will have one of if not the best 2 way players in the nhl in 2 years and a guy that will have 70 - 80 pts a year - gerbe75pts
You are making a pretty big claim to say that Cirelli will produce those kinds of numbers offensively when he has never really been a scorer at any level per his stats going back to when he was 15.
His defensive zone deployment percent went down this season compared to last, from 58.5% to 54%, and his goals and points per 60 went down a bit.
Wouldn't he be given similar defensive zone deployments on the Sabres?
He would be a great addition, no debating that, but his offensive ceiling looks to be of great debate based on what he has shown so far. |

I think we got a gift with Cozens last year at 7.
In a few years people are gonna wonder how he did not go top 5.
That height and speed combo is pretty rare. If he can add 15-20 pounds of clean weight he’s going to be a treat.
Just like with Kirby Dach this year in Chicago, Cozens should start on the wing but I can see him moving to the middle by year end. |

he got promoted to second line
in turn responded with .65 ppg in second full season in the nhl
which is just a tad behind eichel in his rookie season
he'd be a 75 point player in the right situation |

Cirelli is ahead of Couterier at the same age.
Couturier produced between 35-39 points his first 6 years in the league before exploding for 76 in year 7.
I can see Cirelli getting between 65-75 points a year while being the best defensive Center in the league. |

I did a comparison of Cirelli, who everyone loves, and Andrew Mangiapane from Calgary at even strength and the power play for the 19-20 regular season.
Mangiapane produced the same points per 60 while a better goals per 60 (.95 to .76) and a worse primary assists per 60 (.75 to .83), while being deployed at the same defensive zone percentage (53.84%).
The opportunity is probably lost by now, but he would be a strong target in a trade.
I doubt Calgary is uncertain of what they have in him after this season.
Mangiapane is a good example of why you draft players that have shown they can score at a high level in the lower levels, like the OHL. Even if they don't turn out to be scorers in the NHL level, at least they have the latent ability while still being able to develop other parts of their games. |
