I hear Mittelstadt has been hitting the gym HARD
Plus he's a Minny boy
Just sayin pt deux - jcragcrumple
Jack
Staal
bjustead
Lazer Larry.
That’s an injury away from being decent down the middle... E.Staal would be the grizzled heart and soul guy that was discussed earlier...
The question now, Adams has a history with him and MIGHT be able to swing something. But how does Staal fit with Skinner... did they play together in Carolina? Do they like each other?!? Lol |

It's honestly a fair trade, if Adams could convince Staal. 1 year rental for a rehab project 8OA pick. - jcragcrumple
I don’t see the point in bringing in an old guy and throw away a good prospect to get him. If it does happen I think Adams GM days won’t last. I really believe very little will be done prior to the start of next season other than some bargain UFA’s. |

I think moves will be made, who stays or goes is a unknown. But time is ticking, you really don't want the temperature going any higher with a certain player. |

I agree why do we want an old center just because he's buds with the GM? Also, they have already gone down the bargain UFA road many times and look where it has gotten them. If they don't improve and Jack doesn't go to the Ball next spring it is going to hit the fan. |

A old guy that can still produce and has been through some Wars, he really could help show what it takes. |

Total points the last 3 years... you want some heart and leadership in the room... can Staal give you 1 year at 2c?
Obviously it depends on the cost to acquire but at 3.25 for one year. I think he can teach these kids a lot!
Now all signs point to Staal NOT wanting to leave Minny... but for arguments sake and the “Adams” connection, if he were to waive to come to Buffalo, I wouldn’t complain having a guy like that in the room! I think he’s got one good season left...

If casey is working hard then I don't want to trade him he could be a top 15 player if he chooses
But I would need to see Proof of this gym because last time he said he was 7% body fat |

That's a good question.
Personally I think he'd be the perfect stop-gap. You're talking about a former captain, grizzled vet and a guy who put up 47p in 66 gp at age 35. Cup winner.
In terms of production and even Matt Ellis Intangibles, I dont think you're going to do much better than Staal. |

It depends on how good you think Mittelstadt is/will be, and how much you prioritize winning this year.
I'm pretty low on Mitts and very high on winning this year |

Maybe work a prospect or pick and Staal for Mitts... should be able to even it up if Mitts is the target. I’d try and go Straight pick or lesser prospect. But if you think he fits with skinner and he’d waive to come here, I make that happen!
And I still push for Domi! And take the 89 info deal, Monte for Kapanen.
Olo. Jack. Kapanen
Skinner. Staal. Samson
Mojo. Domi. Cozens.
Kahun. Lazar Larry. Concussed Larry. |

I view Bonino as the Mendoza line for 2C candidates
Below you have Bjustead, Soderberg, Galchenyuk
Above you have Cirelli, Staal, Monahan
Right in the middle is Bonino. He works for me though. |

$6M per for the next 3 seasons for a top level defensive Center is an interesting idea. |

The cost would definitely matter and not sure if tossing Mitts away for one year of Staal would be what I'd do.

Agree on Mitts. That would have to be evened up with Staal +.... it would be something I certainly make a few calls on... |
