i'd like to surround cozens with hard-driving players who play the entire ice and can contribute offensively, like virtanen's 18+18...that's why i like mikheyev and believed sam bennett would have been a good get...same with a player like craig smith

If I were a GM, I'd be making a list of players who have had strong regular seasons, both 19-20 and prior, who've struggled during the play-in and playoff games, to try and get those players at a lower rate, either via UFA or trades, with the thinking this is a true one off event scenario, and even if it isn't, the regular season matters more. Get to the playoffs first. Worry about playoff production later.

monahan's underlying numbers are extremely weak this playoffs and they weren't stellar during a regular season that saw him have his worst production since his rookie campaign
