Hawks are done with cat and Strome
Your trash becomes our treasure - gerbe75pts
If they’re cheap enough, then sure
I prefer DeBrincat over Strome for sure though
CHI signed DeBrincat to a 3yr extension starting next year for 6.4mil per
He’ll be a 25year old RFA when he needs his next contract for the ‘23-‘24 season
So he fits the timeline perfectly
However... he’s is another LW
So someone really needs to switch to the RW |

Skinner - Domi - Debrincat
Now that would be fun to watch.
Just match them with steady Eddie's on the D, and get them the puck fast. |

Until we play on the road and they have to defend against other teams best.
That would be a treat |

I think it’s pretty clear that Claude Julian is done with him... He had him playing 4C
Whoever is filling in did bump him up onto the wing though these last couple games
And Domi did play mostly on the wing for them this season whatever reason, so he is versatile
If the GM dislikes him like their coach does,
then i don’t think he’ll cost Sam
Can likely get him cheaper
He’s not gonna get a 1st
So a 2nd & maybe a Tage like prospect?
Or one of our defenseman prospects? - jdfitz77
Even better!
Olo. Jack. Kapanen
Skinner. Domi. Samson
Kahun. Mojo. Cozens.
The Larry’s...
I did like the E Staal discussion yesterday or Hommie’s Krejci idea from last year. I just like the “intangibles” a grizzled vet forward can bring to that group.... heck add one of the above anyways. Push Domi to a wing position. And after a year, domi at 3c. Cozens at 2c. |

only use that line at home and break it up on the road.. that would be interesting. |

If you want to see the true impact of the LOG line look at the difference between our home records and away records.
When we were able to match them up against the other teams best and put Eichel and the rest of the forward group in more favourable situations we had much more team success |

I honestly don’t mind the idea of Getzlaf. It would
All depend on the price to acquire him, and if he’d even waive.
I think he would check off a lot of boxes for Buffalo. Size in the top 6, veteran experience, good 200 ft game, playmaker for Skinner.
It’s just if we are giving a lot up for one year of him it seems counter productive |

So for 41 games a year on the road, they're functionally useless |

Getz. E.Staal. Krejci... Do you think you could entice any of them to come to Buffalo for a year or two?
Still swing for Domi.
And take the Kapanen for Monte deal? |

I think the road record shows the true deficiencies of the roster, the black hole of a 2nd line that we had, and whatever the 4th line was.
As at this point, I think we can all agree that with the ice time the LOG line received they were actually a 3rd line. |

Seems like it would be a difficult sell regarding Getzlaf and Staal.
Krejci is still producing. I don't know why they would trade him. |

Byfield just turned 18 today. One of the youngest players in the draft.
If LA let’s him slip to Ottawa I’m going to be so upset lol |

yes, but a defacto 3rd line by TOI; that scores like a 5th line...cause none of them can finish except a 6M 4RW. |

Except the other team didn’t score either.
Did you expect the Bills defence to score points every time they stepped on the field or were you ok with just shutting down the other teams offence ?
When the LOG line was on the ice they nullified the other teams top players, for the most part. Larry’s job was to make sure Matthews didn’t do anything when he went on the ice. His job was to stick to him like a fly on poop and shake him off in the pisser if he went to take a piss.
Would have it been nice if they contributed a little more offence ? Sure. It would have been nice if our defacto 2nd line scored too though and our goalies saved the few high danger opportunities they faced every night. |

Don’t you find it interesting how each one of our d-men realistically had average to below average statistics for long stretches at a time however as a team we defended in top 10 in the league ?
I attribute that to coaching and the LOG line.
If you’re simple remedy is to find a Center that scores more points but gives up more goals I struggle to find the net impact.
The Sabres will be more entertaining but still suck and miss the playoffs.
We need to continue to defend well and score more goals.
Just ask Washington, Toronto, Florida, and the Rangers. All teams can score in the uppper percentile in the league yet are getting taken to school by the likes of Columbus, NYI, and Carolina.
Now Carolina is getting beaten by a Bruins team that happens to defend better then they do and essentially play the same game at a higher level.
