What would you think of Olo-Jack-Kahun? - RhinoFan
It could be fine. Truthfully I need to see way more of Kahun in general to form an opinion. I think I watched like one game he played with us. I think he was hurt for the first 1 or 2 games after the TDL, I watched the first game he played and then i rage quit the season |

The cap is only currently scheduled to go up I believe a million dollars in 3 years, but overall, if you are the Sabres, why would you even offer that deal?
If you cannot commit to Reinhart for at least 4 years, if not longer, at a cap hit you are ok with, you should absolutely trade him over signing him to a deal that brings him right to his UFA status.
I highly doubt the Sabres will offer a 2 year deal. - kingcong39
Not my point.
Sam forces Arb if Kerry and Tim are insistent on a 2 way deal, or some other stupid tactic. (JK'g with 2 way deal)
You are right, Sabres shouldn't/wouldn't offer a 2 way deal that walks him straight to UFA.
Sam may want to go to Arb to get yo that UFA status...he has a decent degree of control. |

That's fair. He'd be over his head a bit for sure either way, but I thought he showed some moments that would indicate it's worth a try if we're doing a stop gap 1RW this year. |

Dude, JT Miller scored 72pts in 69g last year. TBL mismanaged him and got a lesser return than what he was worth.
Can understand we don't need 8-9m on the books for him, but that's a horrible example fwiw. |

We be better off trading him and getting pieces that can help us win like a center |

Soooo being the 2nd highest scorer isn't "one of our best scorers"?
What's your degree in again?
Nothing would change if we got nothing back. Get the (frank) out of here. - TheSabresTaco
How much farther can they go down, 5 spots, 6, to hit rock bottom which they have with him already? Not to mention how many of those points are Jack manufactured?
This is like the time when people were saying how good Ennis was because he was the leading scorer on the Sabres at the time. "He is our leading scorer so he is good" 40-50 pts on bad teams doesn't make you a superstar or irreplaceable.

Interesting that now this trade is talked about as completely one sided. Spector Hockey has it as one of the best deals made last year as well.
To put it in perspective, we got more for RoR and JT may be the better of the two in the long run here. Either way, this will go down as one of the best trades VAN has made since Naslund. |

Tough to judge a trade after one year. However the deal looks a heck of a lot better for Vancouver no doubt then it did when it happened |

Sam actual Stats
2016 42 pts
2017 47 pts
2018 50 pts
2019 65 pts and it helped that Skinner hit the back of the net at a percentage he never will hit again
2020 50 pts
If they pay 7-7.5 million for a player and those stats they deserve to stay in the sh*thole.

They have plenty of options that don't include being forced into a 1 year deal with Reinhart, and they will never offer him a 2 year deal, as that would be abject stupidity.
As Lunaion put it, there's a ton of risk if he goes the year to year route. It's why they have such a low likelihood on the 1 year deal.
All of the above is why I've believed for a while that they are trading Reinhart this offseason. |

I have believed the same. I do not think they are going to overpay another winger. |

For sure, things changed. Just pointing out that he has been more impactful than Ryan was and we certainly graded that trade well before a year out.
If TB hits big on the first or Miller gets injured, it could turn quickly. Just not looking to be the case. As of now, TB got taken to the cleaners there. |
