I hope so too.
Gerbe's link above...send him to Colorado for Bowen Byrum and Alex Newhook
BTW, Arb may be forced on the Sabres, not that I suggested Sabres would offer the 2 year deal...it was listed, I merely picked the one I would select If I were Sam...and suggested Sam could get the 2 years by using Arb. I stand by it. - IonSabres
SO Reinhart.
Terrible, not even worth 7 million dollar hockey player.
Colorado is going to trade their #1 and #2 prospect for him? |

Sam Reinhart more points last 3 years than everyone's favorite, Rickard Rakell....
We have to have Rakell though and Reinhart is garbage. - ImThatGuy
Well, both at $3.65m-sh. Sam is a better producer, no doubt.
Yet, that valuecequation flips when Sam is at $7m producing 60 points, IMO of course. |

Rakell at 27, Sam is 24
Rakell will need a new deal at 29, in which you are paying a guy on the downside of his career probably 6+ million a year. |

I don't know. They are in win now mode and was suggested in the article that Sam should be the target. If they are seeking him, then gotta pay. I suspect Sabres may need to add a bit however. |

How buffalo sports fans work.
Dude is trash and not worth it, he'd be garbage without Jack.
SO we should trade him then for middling picks and prospects.
What no, hes at least worth a 2nd line center and probably more. - ImThatGuy
In package sure ... .. I still would like to know from the brain trust if Sam's not on team what happens ?

Bryam and Newhook for Reinhart and Asplund - Pegullaville
Is there a drunk, high, angry admin answering the phone for Sakic and saying yes without his knowledge to the deal above?
I ask because it seems quite unlikely the Avalanche would trade Byram and Newhook for Reinhart and then pay Reinhart what he will cost. |

The idea is to get prospects back having Rakell you get your free 50 Points plus maybe more goals and you flip him later on |

He didn't lie he just wasn't good enough to be a center even with that cerebral mind that we are all still waiting to see on a regular basis.

If I recall correctly, that trade was:
Sam and Risto
For
2020's 6-OA, Henrique, Rakell, Terry (to more properly balance the $'s I would guess)
Money out, with Sam signed at $6.75 say is $12.15m
Money in is around $10.5m
In the big picture of securing a 2C and backfilling for the trade chip, Sam in this case, the trade does a reasonably good job of hiting its' objective.
In 2 years, who knows what Rakell's value will be ... $5m, $6m, $7m? Maybe they pay, maybe they don't. What will his trade value be? They could sell him off, especially if they draft say Rossi and Holtz with 6th and 8th who might be good and ready to show what they have at wing by then.
The big takeaway is they would have accomp, ished the objective reasonably well for 2 years, and provided themselves with options.
I fail to see why this rankles your jimmies. |

Idk Some people think Sam is the best thing since sliced bread if you can put a package together that will bring us future Assets plus a player that will get the same amount of points why not do it? |

Rumors .... rumors ...fun rumors! Lol
Hfb ....
A poster over at Sabrespace says he's got a source that told him some Sabres trade news. He was right on breaking the news that Botterill was gone, but even so, take it for what it is. Rumors:
-Sabres are looking to trade for a 2C and top 6 winger from a team which made the field of 24.
- Reinhart may be going the other way.
- Poster said he would be really happy with the trade |

It was, until HE hit on SHE and HE was fired for Sexual Misconduct in the Work Place.
SHE was then promoted...but still very angry at Sakic, and has taken to drinking rather aggressively to try to settle herself down..but it makes her even more trashy.
Do try to keep up. |
