Of course he wants to stick around. He knows Panarin will carry him to a huge payday next offseason when he is a UFA - TPC
The only real thing Strome has going for him is his goal total from the prior year after he joined the Rangers. He came close to netting 20 after the Rangers traded him for Spooner (can you fvcking believe Rangers still pay dead cap on this guy even after being traded two times?). He did okay pre-Breadman. Still not paying him $7M per. |

If Strome wants a 1 yr deal to get him to UFA he has to be gone at the next trade deadline.
I do think that NY could potentially package up Strome, TDA, and maybe the CAR 1st or some other asset and come away with something really shiny.
EK65 maybe? Oh that's right SJ can only retain 50% and that would still be too much. Man that contract is atrocious |

It's why I shake my head when i keep seeing and reading articles how they should look to trade the pick. There is a reason everyone is so pumped we won this lottery. LAF is going to be a franchise changer for us. - TPC
I’m with ya. I really don’t care what the offers would be, I want Lafreniere more then anyone we could trade the pick for lol |

I remember getting Spooner in the Nash deal and being excited by it

I was scrolling through teams who have missed their window looking for any interesting names other than Cirelli when I hit SJ and remembered just how bad that deal was...SJ has Wade Redden'ed themselves |

As far as young, available centers... no one really. |

I was so thrilled with that signing because it wasn't the Rangers that were dumb enough to do it! I so wanted to stay away from that mess. |

You're not kidding. I was on a conference call and scrolled through the entire team list on Capfriendly one by one. Nothing out there really
Best I could do was convince myself that Milbury becomes GM in Detroit and they offer Larkin and #6 for #1 and CAR 1st |

I wonder if Hank or the Rangers put out a press release saying he’s back for one more year if he does come back. Or do they leave everyone hanging and do what every player does with a contract and just show up for training camp |

11.5M for an injury riddled <10g 40pt Dman on the wrong side of 30 with a full NMC and 7 years remaining...honestly is there a worse contract in the NHL? |

What about Mikko Koivu as no 2 center? He is a UFA. 54% on face offs, plus he is Finnish. |

Would ranger fans be interested in a trade of Marner and Dermott for fox and krieder? |

At 37 years old, point production steadily decreasing, you are correct...he is Finnish(ed) |

A team that might be willing to move a center is MTL. They have Domi Suzuki Phoeling Katkomiemi Danault. |

Nope. Dermott is soft and doesn't do much defensively or offensively. Marner's contract is way too high. |

The more I think the more I like Danault from Mtl. He’s a very good faceoff man and shutdown center. He’s a FA after next season tho. But I doubt he’d cost much in a trade. They have no room for one of their centers, they are very deep there
