The Blackhawks loaned forward Matej Chalupa to Mountfield HK or Czech Extraliga. Another wasted Bowman signing. - DarthKane

The difference is this kid was drafted 40th overall and the other 2 were undrafted (I think). Scouts saw something they valued on the skill side.
And if nothing else, it may finally be an admission on the part of the Blackhawks that they are too small to compete effectively, especially up front. - RickJ
Morrison should be quite effective... in Rockford. |

Man, I simply forgot this player, and have ignored him since his draft year. I dunno, did he get injured at Notre Dame? Or did he simply want to finish college? Anyway, it might be to the Hawk organization's advantage.
I remember some draft prognosticators has him in the late first round in 2016, but I simply didn't see him enough to separate any qualities for me to have a love affair with him. He had upside to possible 2nd liner, with many parts of the game and his style kinda compared to Max Pacioretty but please I said compares...
https://www.draftsite.com...r/cameron-morrison/23947/
Here, I will go from my notes;
Big skilled winger who a rookie in the USHL. He is one of the younger players in the draft class, and is big strong and physical. Displays a high hockey IQ, reacting without hesitation inside of his two-way game. Has a good first step is decent speed to accenuate his two way game. Has size, a good wall game and an active stick, and plays on the penalty-kill and will see time on the power play. Gets terrific torque on his snap shot and can knock goalies backwards, as he hides the release points on all his shots well. Finds open seams at opportune times. He dominates below the circles as he is strong as an ox. Handles the puck well and is good at recieving hard quick passes. The type of player who can easily slide up and down the forward lines and contribute. He's smart with the puck on his stick, and uses his size to drive to the blue paint and along the boards, and owns the wall on the cycle, as he plays hard on his stick and impossible to move off the puck in the cycle. Carries junior players on his back on his way yo the net. Committed to the University of Notre Dame, he has the makings of a power forward when he adds more muscle and jump, and channels it by using his size. Needs time. - wiz1901
Anybody who goes to Notre Dame has a high hockey IQ. |

A bit high, tho, from what I saw. - StLBravesFan
Disagree. Beautiful shoulder to the chest hit that knocked Staal flat on his ass and out of the game. And it changed the game in the Bruins favour. Dont want to take those hits out of hockey. |

My view saw shoulder or elbow lifted up into his head.
Hits are fine - I hope you would want hits to the head taken out of the game. |

I think that was on Tallon except you could say Stan didn't stop him...

Size doesn't matter as much as compete level and defensive awareness. I'd much rather have Kampf, Highmore, and Hagel on the 4th line than Hayden.
Great intel on Morrison, i.e. skating ability and discipline. - AEL_Fox
I agree that size isn’t everything but it’s pretty obvious the size difference of the Blackhawks forwards vs the Vegas forwards
The fourth line was a lot more affective against a smaller team like Edmonton I don’t really feel like they’ve been nearly as effective playing against guys consistently 20 pounds bigger on average. |

Maybe the Morrison signing will be as real as the Sorokin trade. |

Some reports claim Morrison as a strong skater while others do not.
@Mario_Tirabassi
Asked @chrismpeters about Cam Morrison: “Big, 2-way forward. Great strength & good shot. Good at the net-front, gets to the middle well. Skating is not standout. Hands are average. Likely future as depth NHLer, expected more development during college.”
Btw, Chris Peters does NHL draft and prospect analysis for ESPN. |

I think you put on delicate gloves with an Adam Boqvist demotion.
I think Boqvist knows what he has to do to be a playoff performer and firstly a NHL defenseman.
Positionally, Ian Mitchell is far ahead of Adam as a defender, but I agree, there may be a chasm there for a direct touch down in the bigs, so I think they go slow with him and the other defenseman prospects unless they know the NHL doors off and cause press box seatings for the older vet defenders. - wiz1901
The AHL reportedly is a very physical hard checking league. Boqvist needs to get stronger but i don't think he can get a lot stronger and also gain a lot of confidence if he continues as he is. It probably takes additional strength to help him deal with the physical nature of pro hockey. Which takes oh what do you guess - at least two summer's worth training. I just am curious how much instruction and devotion Boqvist has been attended as far as using Beaudin as an example this past AHL season in the instructions how to leverage body and get in the way to break up plays. Something Boqvist could work on in the AHL then recall once he has incorporated this better into his game |

Maybe in.previous years Stan thought we could be physical enough come playoffs. Now though he better be looking more closely with a monocle. |

Well, the team, the situation, and the production in the playoff with the current conditions doesn't bode well for Strome negotiating team drawing a line in the sand.
Does he want to stay?
Can he win here?
A lot for him to think about.

Hayes didn't want to be here. Can't blame Stan for that. Stan even went out and acquired his brother, but he was horsepoop. |

Possibly the perception of either or both brothers but you’d think they might recognize the Hawks did Jimmy a favor by trading him to see if he could catch on somewhere else. Which he didn’t... |

You got it! Not to mentioned trading away Teravainen, Danault and Panarin. Trading away Saad and re-acquiring him were both terrible moves. Signing Anisimov before he played a game with the Hawks was questionable. Trading away and re-acquiring Shaw were bad moves.
I tried to find some good moves that Stan made but...

Yes. I recall a goalmouth tap in or off goal mouth rebound he got a stick on puck. Maybe his first game? |

Getting Kubes for a 5th. Or was that a massive overpay on Stan’s part with the timing once again being called into question? |
