Nope. It was a trade with decidedly Leafy results.
Kadri will be in the running for the Conn Smythe because the universe hates the (frank)ing Leafs. - mjones242
Like I always say, if you imagine the worst outcome for the Leafs, then that is the one that will happen.
We should have a pool where Matthews ends up at the end of this contract

You're exactly right. Two (frank)ing decades of this poop. Hard to say this, but the greatest Leaf moment in the last twenty years was Fraser McLaren and Colton Orr absolutely cleaning house at the le Centre Bell. There has been....nothing else. - fifty__missions
The 2 of them also did a good job tenderizing Chara at every chance in 2013 playoff series
I still think that was their best “team “ |

Dude, every deciding game. and every loss in the CBJ series. It isn't once in a while. It is like clockwork. - Aetherial
And every time it's following one of the worst defensive plays you'll ever see.
Not taking anything away from how bad the goals he's allowed have been but if Holl doesn't go for the worst change in the history of hockey, it doesn't happen. |

Not quite the same. Lol. 2-0 lead. First one he should have stayed in the net, but would have had to face a breakaway. 2 others breakaway or alone in front. Other a screen, no chance. Carolina blew it. Outshot 16-2. |

Luke Glendening fits that criteria. If Detroit retains 50% of his $1.8M cap hit, then a Glendening for Kapanen swap saves Toronto $2.3M in cap space. Glendening for Johnsson saves $2.5M. That’s the space Toronto desperately needs to invest on the blueline. Yzerman may even pry a draft pick out of Dubas if we retain salary on Glendening.

This was my response...
It's good from a Red Wings perspective. I'd love for the Wings to acquire Kapanen. But I still believe Nylander will be traded so Dubas will likely want to keep Kapanen around. Johnsson is coming off an injury so I'm a bit hesitant trading for him.
I can't see Dubas trading Kapanen for a rental in Glenny who's going to be a UFA after next season. Leaf fans would likely burn the arena to the ground if that trade happened. Johnsson? He still has more value than Glenny simply because he's younger and is locked up for a few years. |
