Luke Glendening fits that criteria. If Detroit retains 50% of his $1.8M cap hit, then a Glendening for Kapanen swap saves Toronto $2.3M in cap space. Glendening for Johnsson saves $2.5M. That’s the space Toronto desperately needs to invest on the blueline. Yzerman may even pry a draft pick out of Dubas if we retain salary on Glendening.

Holy hell.

that would be a terrible, terrible, terrible trade... Was it Max's idea?

This was my response...

It's good from a Red Wings perspective. I'd love for the Wings to acquire Kapanen. But I still believe Nylander will be traded so Dubas will likely want to keep Kapanen around. Johnsson is coming off an injury so I'm a bit hesitant trading for him.

I can't see Dubas trading Kapanen for a rental in Glenny who's going to be a UFA after next season. Leaf fans would likely burn the arena to the ground if that trade happened. Johnsson? He still has more value than Glenny simply because he's younger and is locked up for a few years.

McDavid for Andersen and Nylander is good from a Leafs perspective.

Based on the marleau, kadri and zaitsev trades - the original post may actually be dubas looking for some feedback on his next idea.

So funny that 2 years ago I mentioned Lehner was as good or better as Andersen I got laughs and insults from basically everybody on here.
now there are loads of suggestions to switch Andersen for Lehner.

Grrr. I’m so mad at that stupid Dubas because he’s just so stupid and he’s always doing doing stupid things like this stupid thing he’s not doing.

That’s my post.

It is on Dubas, he should have been able to bring in a goalie that is as good as Korpisalo. It's Dubas' fault that Lou traded for Andersen

Lenher has since changed his views and actually knelt (odd word) for blm..but 2 years ago he was spewing Trump crap and had trump on his mask...which was my stop sign on adding that to the team.

Lehner has really changed for the better. I follow him on Twitter and he is far more positive nowadays

You're not wrong about everything.

But you are so ridiculously wrong about some things that everything you say is discounted.

You and Roger are very similar that way.

could he help be more positive about my team trailing 2-1 in a series where Price allowed a grand total of 3 goals in 3 games?

Carter Hart was good in Game 3..

Would be great if the Leafs had Carey Price

They didn't trap in game 2. Flyers can't skate with the Habs. That's why they changed tactics in game 3. Habs have to adjust or it'll be more of the same.

the combination of all those trades left us both worse in the short-term and worse in the long-term.

the facts speak for themselves.

I disagree.

The game will look similar but the results should/could easily be different.

Habs had the most scoring chance in that game. With a little more luck and some normal shooting %, they would have won that game.

They deserved better.

They'll win this afternoon!

And every time it's following one of the worst defensive plays you'll ever see.

Not taking anything away from how bad the goals he's allowed have been but if Holl doesn't go for the worst change in the history of hockey, it doesn't happen.

- GreatGigInTheSky

Sorry greatgig

absolute BS.

and even if it was true, name one other goalie in the last 4 years with a track record like his of whiffing in key games.

There was nothing wrong with the game 1, game 3 or game 5 goals on the defenseman's part. People suggesting there is, are more afraid of admitting they are wrong about Andersen than actually assessing his performance.

Other team's defense makes mistakes also, lots of mistakes.
